This position will serve as a primary interface for our Nuclear Material Management (NMM) team. Candidate will be an integral part of our team of experts providing database creation and maintenance of nuclear material on the NNSS. The chosen candidate will be an integral part of our team of experts providing services such as developing reports for DOE/NNSA headquarters as well as populating and analyzing the Inventory Control database in support of the MSTS Nuclear Material Management (NMM) Program.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Nuclear Material Inventory Management Lead to develop and maintain database reports on the Nevada Secure Network (NvSN).
  • Work with the Nuclear Materials Manager and Inventory Management Lead to develop DOE Order 410.2 reports for headquarters including the Nuclear Material Inventory Assessment (NMIA), Nuclear Material Forecast and Allotment Request (NMFAR), Material Balance Sheet (MBS), Nuclear Material Management Plan (NMMP), and the Annual Nuclear Component Staging Report.
  • Assist with DOE O 410.2 reporting requirements, provide database programming, and work with subcontractors to maintain/extract information from the Local Area Network Material Accountability System (LANMAS).
  • Maintain and update Access databases for the inventory of all nuclear material at the NNSS and all outlying locations.
  • Assist in documenting and maintaining new and legacy nuclear material characterization data.
  • Obtain and validate the NM information is accurate on all receipts of NM from various shipper's NMM Program.
  • Audit existing reporting functions to ensure accuracy and documenting data structure/locations for future reporting use.
  • Work with the Procurement Systems team and Procurement Management to prepare and maintain contracts with outside vendors (Subcontract Technical Representative).
  • Follow defined standards and processes, change management processes, and other company policies and regulations.
  • Develop and revise company-level and department-level directives, organization procedures, and desktop instructions.
  • Conduct and/or contribute to other reports, plans, and analytical studies at the directions of the NM Manager.
  • Provide support with travel arrangements and training scheduling.
  • Assist with compiling biweekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for submission to HQ.
  • Develop and revise company-level and department-level directives, organization procedures, and desktop instructions.
  • Conduct and/or contribute to other reports, plans, and analytical studies at the directions of the NM Manager.
  • Perform other duties assigned by Management.

  • Bachelor’s degree in worker safety and health, quality assurance, nuclear engineering, radiological protection, law, security, law enforcement or other related field or equivalent training and experience and at least 5 years’ relevant experience.
  • Must be proficient in MS Access.
  • Ability to read and follow detailed instructions utilizing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Includes verification and validation of new or revised SOPs.
  • Domestic travel will be required.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Working knowledge and experience in in Microsoft Office are desired.
  • The primary work location will be at the Losee Road facility in North Las Vegas, Nevada.
  • Work schedule for this position will be 4/10’s, Monday – Thursday (subject to change).
  • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

MSTS is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants offered employment with MSTS are also subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by DOE, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment. In addition, Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship, at least 18 years of age. Reference DOE Order 472.2, “Personnel Security”. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted.

 

Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4, “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted.  Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, required to participate in subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Reference 10 CFR Part 709, “Counterintelligence Evaluation Program.”

Anual range for this position is $ 92,102.40 - $138,153.60.

 

Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
