***, Inc. currently seeks a “Senior QA Analyst” to join our team in “Albany, NY”. (Must be available 50% onsite in Albany, NY)
Overview of job:
The Senior MDW Quality Assurance Analyst will report to the Medicaid Data Warehouse (MDW) Quality Assurance (QA) project manager and work with MDW business and quality analysts to perform quality reviews and make recommendations for MDW on-going changes, improvements, and maintenance. This is not a QA testing role but is a QA analyst role that ensures deliverable compliance with contractual requirements.
The MDW was created as a central repository for all New York State Medicaid data and is one of the largest and most technologically advanced healthcare data and intelligence platforms in the United States. It contains more than six billion Medicaid claims and encounters and supports more than 1,500 users. The system allows for self-service ad hoc queries, data extraction and analytics reporting.
Responsibilities include:
• Reviewing, identifying, and documenting QA issues and recommendations relative to the implementation and maintenance of the MDW technical architecture
• Reviewing MDW contractor project artifacts throughout the waterfall SLDC for quality, compliance, and completeness, documenting observations and findings using standard checklists and comment matrices
• Artifacts reviewed include, but are not limited to: Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs), Project Assessment (hour estimates), Project Design Documents (PDDs), Project Change Requests (PCRs), Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs), Test Packages, and Billing Invoices
• QA reviewer for Disaster Recovery Plan and Testing, vendor Technical Design Documents, Transition Plan and Deliverable Expectation Documents (DEDs)
• Performing technical reviews for appropriateness of change request assessment hours
• Performing Service Level Agreement (SLA) compliance reviews
Mandatory Qualifications:
• Eight years of IT business experience including:
Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a health-related IT environment with strong business knowledge of the healthcare industry, such as MMIS, Medicaid Data Warehouse, health and human services programs
Minimum 3 years’ experience in creating or conducting reviews of various waterfall methodology SDLC project documentation (such as assessments, requirements, design, testing), artifacts (such as change requests, invoices, SLAs, disaster recovery testing assessment) and/or other vendor deliverables in a healthcare or IT application environment.
Minimum 3 years’ experience creating and executing SQL queries
• Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems or healthcare related field
Requested Qualifications:
• Ability to assess technical proposals against best practices
• Ability to assess level of effort and project estimates against a proposal and recommend acceptance or rejection
• Strong analytical skills using Microsoft Excel, Access or reporting tools such as Tableau
• Familiarity with Microsoft applications including Office, SharePoint, and Teams
• Experience with writing and/or reviewing requirements, project artifacts and/or deliverables
• Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in written form
• Ability to collaborate and engage as part of a high performing QA team supporting the client
