Senior Proposal Writer

We are excited to be recruiting for new talent to join our growing and innovative team – Senior Proposal Writer! This position is responsible for taking complex, technical information and translating it into an easily understandable format. This individual will play a pivotal role in creating sophisticated Request for Information (RFI), Sources Sought Notice (SSN), and Request for Proposal (RFP) response documents for government and commercial clients. The Technical Writer will work closely with internal and/or subcontractor employees, as necessary, to interpret specifications, engineering drawings, reports, and other data to ensure production of technical documentation that complies with customer, company, and industry requirements.
The responsibilities of this role may include:

• Review RFI, SSN, and/or RFP documents to determine requirements.
• Actively participate in all phases of the technical writing process, including strategy sessions, refining ideas, and cultivating sources.
• Participate in developing, and ensure effective communication and incorporation of, win themes, key messages, discriminators, benefits, and proof points.
• Develop questions; interview internal and/or external/teammate Subject Mater Experts (SME); conduct thorough research; and create technical proposal documents.
• Expertly translate intricate data into accessible, user-friendly content, effectively clarifying complex concepts.
• Conceptualizes graphics, figures, tables, and other presentation elements to optimize impact of information.
• Participate in color team reviews, as necessary, and incorporate/resolve all comments received.
• Coordinate the collection and refinement of inputs from SMEs into well-organized, logical, and competitive proposals with compelling narratives and appropriate support exhibits/illustrations.
• Meet customer-driven schedules for the submission of technical, management, personnel, and past performance sections.
• Maintain documentation repositories and version control to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
• Write, review, and/or edit other corporate documents, as requested.
• Performs all other duties as assigned

To qualify for this position, you must possess a Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, or related field or a related discipline and at least 8 years of government technical proposal writing experience.
Additional qualifications include:

• Proven hands-on experience as a technical writer in the federal government contracting space.
• Knowledge of business development, proposal writing, and/or Shipley proposal processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
• Ability to present complex data in clear, concise text.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Ability to edit and proofread work of colleagues.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
