The Senior Proposal Writer plays a critical role in the development and execution of winning proposals for RQM+. They are responsible for leading the proposal development process, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and producing high-quality, compelling proposals that address client needs and objectives. The Senior Proposal Writer mentors proposal team members, is accountable for overall proposal quality, and identifies opportunities for proposal process and tool improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Leads the end-to-end proposal development process for Trial Services.
- Facilitates completion of Request for Proposal/Statement of Work (SOW) development activities according to tasks outlined in the RQM+ Sales Procedure; this includes the Budget/Project Estimation Form (PEF), SOW, Pre-Proposals, Change Authorizations (CA) and Requests for Information (RFI).
- Leads the development of the Sales Deliverable by defining scope, resource levels and operational approach based on the input of Business Development and Operations leads.
- Ensures budget and text deliverables align for a quality sales deliverable.
- Collaborates with appropriate stakeholders to define and clarify project scope, activities, and hours to ensure that designed services are clearly defined as described in the Sales Package.
- Leads the development and submission of responses to complex RFIs/RFPs based on inputs from Business Development, SMEs, and Clients.
- Monitors the proposals process and applies continuous improvement principles to drive improvements.
- Establishes a proposal development strategy and coordinates contributions from multiple team members, ensuring target timelines are met and content is integrated effectively.
- Conducts thorough reviews of draft proposals for accuracy, compliance, and clarity.
- Enters CSS data in Salesforce (SFDC) for assigned opportunities, maintains accurate, up to date SFDC records, and monitors proposal development metrics.
- Leads the creation of proposals tools and training and works with key stakeholders to deliver training as needed.
- Oversees inputs and changes to contract language.
- Works closely with internal counsel to ensure interests of RQM+ are prioritized in accordance with local requirements and client requests.
- Balances the needs of the project, resources, and Client expectations.
- Shares lessons learned and best practices with the proposal team to enhance overall effectiveness.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, proposal management methodologies, and emerging trends
- Fosters a collaborative and positive working environment to maximize team productivity and engagement
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred in business administration or related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years professional experience writing proposals and preparing trial budgets required.
- Previous experience working in the Life Sciences/MedTech Industry specifically with clinical trial services, lab operations and/or consulting services, preferred.
- Ability to mentor and instruct others and facilitate consistency across multiple authors.
- Advanced computer skills, including business applications, data analysis, reporting, writing, and proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
