Senior Project Scheduler - Primavera P6/ Process Owner
LOCATION
San Diego, California.
CANDIDATE
Seeking a high-energy, detail oriented, Lead Project Scheduler, with 6+ years' experience in projects planning and control and Primavera P6 scheduling experience, to be part of an established professional services team providing program management services to investor-owned gas and electric. We provide clients with overall program management of complex system protection deployments in electrical transmission and distribution substations and circuits. Successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the business environment including engineering, construction, and executive teams. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years previous experience working in a regulated utility or regulated project environment.
OVERVIEW
The P6 Senior Scheduler will support projects having varying degrees of complexity, across multiple business units, which require outstanding leadership and communication skills. Creating P6 projects templates, update P6 schedules during live sessions with PMs. Reporting to project controls manager and partners with one or more Program managers. Also, the Lead Scheduler will act as focal point of contact for all stakeholders within these programs for all aspects related to P6 scheduling within the assigned programs. Creates weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reports as requested. The ideal candidate will also have a working knowledge of utility substation, transmission and distribution construction and maintenance.

· Reports to Project Controls Manager
TYPICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Act as Process Owner of P6 scheduling for the assigned programs.
· Support team of schedulers, develops, trains, and mentors’ schedulers, following modern techniques and proven leadership standards.
· Ensure the scheduling strategy is executed with accuracy and aligns with business rules, provide critical spot-checks for other schedulers as needed.
· Leverage Primavera (P6) scheduling software for managing status of project schedules, developing/updating projects schedules, monitoring deadlines and deliverables.
· Maintain Oracle database and quality control of all schedules. Direct supervision and oversight of the entire project and work of the schedulers.
· Create routine and as-needed reports, such as summary and lookahead schedules, key milestones, and baseline variances.
· Attend regularly and as-needed meetings with managers and stakeholders.
· Responsible for analyzing, monitoring, and reporting of all project's milestones in the assigned program and performing delay analysis to highlight the root causes and propose solutions.
· Coordinate with project managers and key stakeholders to provide timely and accurate updates.
· Perform what-if schedule scenarios, advanced schedule analysis, and variance analysis reports
· Summarize schedule status, create status reports and presentations for management.
· Ad Hoc requests and projects as assigned.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
A combination of experience, education, and/or training which demonstrates the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
· 6+ years of experience in scheduling, Teams development and/or project management
· Thorough knowledge of project scheduling
· Proven leadership and communications skills
· Established track record with proven ability to work within a fast-paced corporate environment.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification, training, or demonstrated work experience.
· High school graduate required. Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field from accredited program preferred.
· EPPM and/or PMI-SP certification desirable
· Active CAPM or Six-Sigma green belt certification desirable

· Excellent verbal and written communication demonstrated testing expected prior to engagement.
· Demonstrated interpersonal skills in day-to-day and under pressure.
· Ability to influence others, convey complex project, and program deliverables in a concise manner across multiple teams and all levels of management.
· Detail oriented with excellent organizational, planning and follow-up skills.
