Our vision is to be the global cloud compliance platform. The Product Marketing team at Avalara is the driving force behind getting products to market and ensuring their ongoing success. We do this by gathering market insights, channeling the voice of the customer, understanding the buyer and the buying process, crafting reusable positioning, messaging, and differentiation statements, and enabling sales and marketing to create demand and close deals.
We are looking for a passionate Product Marketing Manager to join Avalara's Product Marketing team. As a Product Marketing specialist, you will create marketing strategies to promote Avalara products and services. You are expected to act tactically, from creating a marketing strategy and product/solution positioning to the brass tacks of execution on messaging and measurement.
You will work with product management, sales, and marketing in this role to create go-to-market strategies. You will craft compelling content, managing digital and traditional marketing channels, and supporting marketing campaigns and events to engage our target audiences - measuring all along the way for campaign effectiveness.
Responsibilities
What you'll do

  • Content creation - You will help develop marketing content, including blog posts, email campaigns, website content, and social media posts.
  • Digital marketing - You will help manage web pages and digital content, social media posting and responding to responses and comments, and crafting email marketing campaigns.
  • Marketing campaigns - You will collaborate with other marketing team members to build integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Collateral Development - You will create marketing collateral such as direct mail pieces, flyers, presentations, and other materials.
  • Analytics and Reporting - You will monitor and report on key performance indicators for marketing communications initiatives. Use data-driven insights to make recommendations for improvements.
  • Partner marketing - You will collaborate with external partners to jointly promote our products and services.
  • Event marketing - You will help plan and build several events and tradeshows to promote our product to several audiences. Some travel required.

Qualifications
What you'll need to be successful
  • A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience with marketing communication, campaign or event management, or Product Marketing.
  • Proficiency in content creation and editing.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms, including content management systems, email marketing software, and social media management tools.
  • Project management skills
  • Generate marketing ideas.
  • Knowledge of SEO and SEM best practices
  • Experience with graphic design software
  • Experience with Hubspot and Salesforce
