Spectrum Controls, an Allied Motion Technologies company, is in growth mode and currently seeking a Senior Product Marketing Manager to join our team! Allied Motion Technologies Inc. is a global publicly traded company with over 2200 employees at 26 locations in 11 countries. The Senior Product Marketing Manager will develop and execute the strategic marketing and communication activities for Spectrum Controls’ products. The Senior Product Marketing Manager will have responsibility for market research, product positioning, marketing collateral, sales enablement, customer insights, and product launch activities as they pertain to driving the success of the products in the marketplace. Responsibilities:

Spectrum Controls Branding:

  • Maintain and advance the strong brand of Spectrum Controls in the B2B space, ensuring the brand’s identity, positioning, messaging, mission, vision, value, and recognition result in customer loyalty and increased sales.
  • Ensure that all communication and collateral, both internal and external, are aligned with the Spectrum Controls’ branding strategy and guidelines:
    1. Website design
    2. Company letterhead, business cards, invoices, ppt decks, etc.
    3. Product manuals, datasheets, brochures, catalogs, handouts, etc.
    4. Exhibits and trade show materials
    5. Product and packaging design

Product Marketing:

  • Identify and understand the target markets. Key aspects include understanding customer needs, market segments, market trends, competitive landscape, and customer feedback.
  • Define the unique value proposition and positioning of the product in the market. Key features and benefits.
  • Develop all Product Marketing materials:
    1. Product datasheets, brochures, sales & marketing presentations, website content, case studies, press releases, print and digital advertisements, trade show collateral and signage, webinars, videos, customer surveys, contests/giveaways, social medial content, and photography.
  • Develop content for the sales team that enables them to effectively sell the product:
    1. Value propositions, sell briefs, FAQs, case studies, etc.
  • Continuously collect customer insights to tailor the marketing strategy:
    1. Feedback and surveys, user analytics (e.g. website, social media, webinars, etc.), transactional data, user forums, support and customer service interactions, and voice of the customer programs.
  • Plan and execute go-to-market strategies and product launches that will ensure the successful introduction of the product to the market.
  • Participates in product life cycle planning and assessment of potential new markets.
  • Special project activity as required.

Marketing Plan:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy plan and marketing calendar that includes all marketing initiatives, both product and commercial.
  • Defines the appropriate use of marketing systems to communicate consistent messaging. May include use of public relations firms, advertising, sales promotions, event marketing, point of purchase tools, vendor support, sales displays, etc.
  • Establishes and manages an annual marketing budget with itemization of expected expenditures and expected return on investment. Identifies/resolves budget variances.
  • Establishes an ongoing process to measure the effectiveness of marketing efforts to increase market share, retain customers and evaluate how Spectrum can better serve its valued customers.
  • Ensures effective execution and evaluation of the marketing plan, reaching timelines and milestones.

Marketing Communications:

  • Creates promotional materials, trade magazine advertisements, and audio-visual presentations by writing, editing, design, and layout, utilizing a variety of graphic arts applications and tools.
  • Works with Technical Writer to ensure that all manuals, and multiple media technical publications are consistent with corporate guidelines.
  • Creates and executes effective marketing campaigns to differentiate Spectrum Controls within a target market.
  • Measures effectiveness of campaigns to generate quality sales leads to produce a desired return on investment.
  • Creates marketing campaigns for and collaborates with ongoing contacts with distributors, OEMs and end-users in conjunction with Sales.
  • Able to negotiate with and work as a key liaison between key editors and publications salespersons to place ads within budget.
  • Manages work of outside contractors, freelance staff, print vendors, and others as needed to produce outsourced materials within budget and deadlines.
  • Coordinates photo shoot and press release activities.
  • Creates, negotiates the purchase of, and manages Company promotional items.
  • Ensures the quality and accuracy of materials purchased from, or ads placed with, outside vendors.

Trade Show Management:

  • Controls and coordinates trade show functions, to include reserving booth space, scheduling non-official contractors for installation and dismantling booth, arranging for rental equipment, facilitating shipment, sending marketing collateral to show site, etc.
  • Develops marketing plan for each selected trade show with clearly defined goals and objectives.
  • Develops, analyzes, and measures trade show budget.
  • Establishes the use of a lead tracking system.
  • Coordinates advertising for tradeshow publications/directories.
  • Sets Calendar of Events.
  • Organizes training of key personnel for trade show activities.
  • Coordinates graphic projects from production to completion with outside vendors.
  • Participates in trade shows as required for the promotion of new or existing company products.
  • Ability to interact effectively with Spectrum employees, vendors, customers, and news media in a positive, professional manner.

Qualifications:

  • BA Degree, or equivalent experience, in English, Journalism, Graphic Design, Communications, or related field. MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years progressive experience in Marketing, Product Marketing, or Marketing Communications.
  • Highly focused, independent, sound judgment, strategic thinker, detail oriented.
  • Experience with design-related or graphics applications.
  • Strong project management, event planning, and proofreading skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
