Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector has an opening for a Sr. Principal Engineer Aeronauticalto join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test and Evaluation organization. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.
In this role, you will be the interface between the mission systems and SIT&E IPTs responsible for planning and coordination that aligns with The Program's acquisition strategy.
This MS Systems Test Integrator will report to the Flight Test Manager for The Program. The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels of The Program.
The candidate must be able to collaborate closely between the Mission Systems and Systems Test and Integrations IPTs to provide leadership and guidance within Northrop Grumman, our suppliers and customer. The candidate will be responsible for planning and coordination of technical requirements, vendor schedules, and lab development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with Mission Systems IPT to define the technical requirements for the systems under test
- Extensive knowledge of Mission Systems capabilities
- Work with vendors to coordinate sensor development schedules
- Extensive experience with Supplier Management
- Work with vendors and Northrop Grumman to determine lab development strategies
- Proven experience with integrating Mission Systems capabilities in lab and air vehicle environments
- Knowledge of System Test planning and execution
- Very strong organization, coordination, and planning across both IPTs and vendors
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline AND 9 years of related professional/military experience OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 7 years of related professional/military experience OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 4 years of related professional/military experience
- Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to the commencement of employment
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience working with MS and/or MS testing
- Master's degree or equivalent experience in Mission Systems and/or Flight Testing
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance (in-scope)
- Current Special Program Access (PAR/SAP)
Salary Range: $112,000.00 - $168,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
