Peraton is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to develop TT&C and Satellite Mission Management and Scheduling software in support of our mission critical customers and the OS/COMET COTS software product. Position is located in our Melbourne, FL office, and will allow for occassional telework.
Responsibilities:
- Leading a software development team utilizing Agile development methodologies to ensure project objectives are met or exceeded.
- Development of satellite ground station and mission management systems.
- Collaborating with product/program managers to define project requirements, scope, and deliverables
- Analyze software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Utilizes software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation.
- Contribute to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects and ability to handle routine tasks. Solves problems of moderate scope/complexity.
Required Qualifications:
- BS/BA and a minimum of 12 years of experience; MS/SA and a minimum of 10 years of experience, or Ph.D and a mnimum of 7 years of experience.. Equivalent years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Requires the application of the principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
- DevOps tools for development and CM such as Atlassian Bitbucket, Crucible, and Confluence.
- Demonstrates a strong grasp of debugging skills.
- Ability to write Agile based Stories to drive development and test objectives.
- Ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading a multi-functional engineering team responsible for development, test, integration, and deployments.
- Expertise developing on a Linux OS, preferably RHEL
- Familiarization with the OS/COMET TT&C COTS software product
- Ability to provide professional direction and development to junior engineers.
