JOB PURPOSE:
To lead the development and execution of parts pricing for services growth strategies globally collaborating with E&T/RI segments and distribution services focused on top enterprise price value gaps. The incumbent leads an experienced pricing team by training, managing, and directing analysts to enable end to end parts pricing management, balancing the needs of industry segments and enterprise, resulting in maximizing Caterpillar portfolio for profitable aftermarket services growth. This work includes being advocate for pricing supporting services growth strategies, translate aftermarket pricing business insights/capabilities into business intelligence requirements, collaborating with business partners on optimizing Sales Variance strategies and improving parts pricing operational efficiencies.
JOB DUTIES:
Develop a team with strong business acumen serving as main point of contact for all parts pricing communications with industry segment partners, DSD’s and dealers.
Lead a team of pricing analysts that act as trusted advisors to E&T/RI Industry Segments that prioritize targeted pricing initiatives aligned with dealer services growth plans, enterprise largest price value gaps and enable extended OPACC-C dollars. Works with many business partners from, industry segment partners, product groups, distribution services, dealers, and others to obtain and evaluate price value assessment that provides necessary information to identify root causes of price value gaps. The incumbent gathers priorities and influences others work plans as well as their own based on feedback from these areas.
Core responsibility of the team is to translate aftermarket business insights into business intelligence that guide and enable field teams to identify and solution key root causes to overcome price value gaps. The process includes analysis of sales history, volume forecast, gap to target price positioning, DNN revenue & margin trends, TAP analysis, competitive pressure, growth potential and other related factors. The position confronts unique and complex issues or problems on a regular basis, which require careful analysis, diagnosis, innovative solutions and proper handoff to responsible internal partner that can address non-pricing related root causes.
Lead commercial consultation efforts that optimize strategic sales variance usage, provide profitability guidance on how to grow extended OPACC-C dollars and aid industry segments in sales variance budget management. Drive commercial simplification and parts sales variance effectiveness.
Responsible coordinating end to end partner governance process that oversees the closure of price value gaps, assesses profitable growth from price action and proactively monitors gaps in target price position based on needs of the business.
Reporting directly to this position are 3 Pricing Consultants,1 AAP Senior Pricing Consultant.
This position is to manage, train, and supervise the staff responsible to complete the work plan in the pricing execution arena; handle all personnel issues and performance evaluations of subordinates. Helps develop, monitor, evaluate and train personnel on corporate practices, policies, tactics, compliance and strategy.
Incumbents guide their own development and direct others' continual learning through training and staying abreast of technology changes. Key learning comes from gaining experience in the assigned parts pricing area, developing communication and people relationship skills, improving problem solving and analysis techniques, building business skills, enhancing use of Caterpillar systems and continue developing leadership attributes. Incumbents must stay abreast of industry and systems changes and relate those changes throughout Caterpillar.
Limited travel required (10-20% of working time).
Required Qualifications:
- * 4-year college or university degree concentrated in business administration, finance, economics, statistics, accounting, or related fields is required
- 10+ years of job-related experience (pricing, finance, economics, statistics, accounting, marketing) is required
Desired Qualifications:
* Prior work experience in pricing and/or aftermarket is highly desirable
* Prior Dealer experiences highly desirable
* Good working knowledge of aftermarket repair options products and offerings
* 4+ years of supervisor experience
* Strong communication skills, multi-lingual desired
* Experience in Executive Stakeholder Management
* Capacity to manage global and cross-functional teams, implement change and work closely with senior management
* Strong leadership skills, analytical ability, financial acumen and initiative
* Strong customer focus and ability to influence
* Proven ability to diagnose and find innovative solutions to unique and complex problems on a regular basis
* Knowledge of Caterpillar products, Cat Financial products, CVA, merchandising programs and/or relevant business systems

- Location: US
- Domestic relocation is available for those who qualify
- This position would ideally be located in the locations listed above, however open to considering other Caterpillar facilities - candidates permanent address must be within 50-mile driving distance to a Caterpillar facility)
- 10-20% of travel is expected
