The Senior Organization Design Consultant serves as a subject matter expert and consultant within the Organizational Effectiveness practice. This position will play a critical part in helping clients bring their business strategies to life by applying Organization Design principles and practices. They will also identify opportunities for revenue growth

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Deliver expert-level OD services and lead complex org designs across clients.

  • Serve as lead consultant/advisor in the facilitation of any/all parts of end-to-end org design process.

  • Accountable for the outcomes of a design project.

  • Facilitates design and implementation of reengineering and/or reorganization efforts

  • Assesses critical business issues and designs organization development and strategic plans to enhance company performance. Leads and provides guidance for organizational effectiveness and design, as well as change management efforts

  • Called upon as SME for all aspects ranging from minor or changes to transformational change

  • Will engage with senior leaders as primary relationship and process lead (often VP level or above)

  • Will lead the process of aligning senior leaders on future strategy and macro design of org.

  • In addition to contributing to delivering successful outcomes of specific org design initiatives, this role will also actively help build the overall org design capability as well as the processes, tools, and systems that will enable the success of the org design practice.

  • Serve as the liaison between business area OD/OE teams, HR leadership, and business leadership for Organizational Design governance and practices

  • Develops an upskilling pathway for HR practitioners in Organizational Effectiveness and Design, executes on upskilling plan through training and facilitation

  • Uses industry best practices and knowledge to advance the practice of Organizational Effectiveness

  • Conducts organizational assessments and interventions to improve team and individual performance on an as needed basis

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education with at least 10 years of experience.
  • Prior experience in Human Resources with strong domain expertise in Organizational Effectiveness
  • Demonstrated Organizational Effectiveness experience including leading large-scale organizational design projects, team effectiveness, change management for large-scale projects and leadership intervention
  • Intermediate or above proficiency using Microsoft Office & other related products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, etc.)
  • Strong project management, organization skills and research skills with the ability to deliver timely, quality products; Ability to develop and manage project plans that ensure flawless execution
  • Strong analytical skills as demonstrated by the ability to problem solve and recommend creative solutions. Exhibits a solutions-based focus and has the ability to translate decisions into easily understood explanations
  • Ability to utilize HR systems to obtain data for analysis and reports, as appropriate and produce graphic representations of analytical data for presentations
  • Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated by the ability to establish and maintain strong networks and relationships; ability to influence without position power
  • Demonstrates initiative - willing to take new tasks; is proactive in completing deliverables
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience delivering executive-level presentations and business cases

 

Preferred skills:

  • Master's degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, Organizational Effectiveness, Talent Management, Human Resources, or related field
  • Experience as an HR Business partner
  • Previous Organizational Effectiveness experience including organizational design, team effectiveness, change management and leadership intervention
  • Working knowledge of Lockheed Martin HR processes, procedures, and tools
  • Working knowledge of SuccessFactors Succession and Development (internally known as Atlas)
  • Basic knowledge of LMPeople/HRMS
  • Solid oral and written communications skills as evidenced through briefings to leadership and employee communications
  • Strong consultative skills exemplified by the ability to ask appropriate questions to identify unstated needs with internal clients
