- Network services comprise of WAN (MPLS & VPN) technologies, LAN (wired & wireless), Internet access including cloud proxy services, network security services & IPT (but not limited to).
- Our Client widely takes advantage of managed network services but transitions LAN & WLAN operations to in-house operations.
- Network operations LAN & WLAN covers all aspects of monitoring, incident & change management including deviceconfiguration.
- Beyond the daily operations the Senior Network Engineer will closely work with the architecture & engineering team for new technology piloting & deployment.
- The Senior Network Engineer is part of the global network operations team which ensures a 24/7/365 support by running a blend of follow the sun & on call service.
Position Scope:

- LAN & WLAN (Cisco and Huawei)

- Internet access central & at remote sites

- WAN / bandwidth consumption optimization
- Network monitoring systems
- Global and local load balancing services such as F5 and A10
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring of LAN and WLAN infrastructure in region (but also in other regions)
- Proactive action taking upon service at risk or service down (within given response time)
- Incident management ownership to incident resolution
- Communication with local IT and regional IT during the incident resolution process
- Initiate escalations as needed to carry out local plant testing and incident resolution actions
- Reporting on incident progress
- Outage communication as per defined process and audience
- Change management execution upon change requests initiated by local IT or other requestors
- Follow change management process and methodology
- Own change from arrival of request to plant IT confirmation: change implementation successful
- Contribute to lesson learned and CI sessions with the global infrastructure network team
- Keep up with technology development and trends for IT infrastructure and obtain knowledge as needed (internal training and external training)
- Continuously provide input to improve service performance experience by reviewing solution design versus requirements, reviewing configuration versus compatibility needs – reality check and feedback to engineering/architecture teams
- Execute the changes of IT infrastructure following processes for change management
- Work on tickets (change requests as well as incident tickets), including troubleshooting, creating and following up on RMA with maintenance providers, config restore, close collaboration with regional and local IT on ticket resolution.
- On-call support for high and urgent priority incident tickets
- Follow ITIL methodology during service design, build, implementation and operations
- Serve as regional contact on matters related to the managed services providers
- Responsible for service availability, change and incident management within a global team consisting of our Client operations engineers and vendor resources
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or above, major in CS, IM or other related
- 5+ years professional IT experience
- 2+ years work experience on network incident tickets and troubleshooting
- Demonstrated experience and a high level of proficiency in the field of network, communication, and IT hardware
- Proven experience in operating and troubleshooting Cisco ASA, Cisco WLC, dynamic routing protocols (EIGRP/BPG/OSPF), DMVPN, S2S VPNs, Cisco AnyConnect, Cisco switches and routers
