Job Description
The Senior Motion Designer will lead the conceptualization and execution of dynamic motion graphic projects and their integration into various types of video content. The Senior Motion Designer will work with creative directors or independently to conceptualize innovative ideas and set the creative direction for motion graphics, ensuring alignment with brand aesthetics while maintaining brand alignment across multimedia, digital and design teams within video content. Tests and tries new approaches to bring brand to life in compelling ways and engage target audiences. The Senior Motion Designer will demonstrate mastery in industry-standard software for animation and motion design, bringing a high level of technical proficiency to the team. The Senior Motion Designer will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate motion seamlessly into digital experiences. They will test and try new approaches to bring the brand to life in compelling ways and engage target audiences. Transforms complex ideas into visually compelling narratives using animation, composited visual effects, motion graphics, and traditional non-linear editing. Works on a variety of types of projects from stand-alone motion graphics, to productions that integrate motion graphics, to video production that is 100% motion graphics. Serves as key voice for how to bring brand to life in motion language.
Qualifications
  • Five (5) plus years of experience working in a high performing marketing operation.
  • Track-record of motion graphic and editing work for use across the marketing and communications spectrum.
  • Portfolio showing variety of work within brand standards, to execute designs from concept through completion and demonstrate multimedia excellence as part of broader campaigns that yielded tangible results.
  • Requires intermediate to advanced knowledge of photography related software including, but not limited to Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Working knowledge of asset management systems, Excel, Word, Outlook.

Responsibilities
  • Serves as lead motion graphic designer for the Marketing Division. Works in partnership with Executive Director of Multimedia, Creative Directors and Managers to bring creative vision to life through effective motion graphics. Translates marketing concepts into compelling motion graphics or fully produced videos. Pushes boundaries, tests and tries new approaches while maintaining the integrity of the brand. Can translate larger design concepts into motion graphic design. Transforms complex ideas into visually compelling narratives using animation, composited visual effects, motion graphics, and traditional non-linear editing. Works on a variety of types of projects from stand-alone motion graphics, to productions that integrate motion graphics, to video production that is 100% motion graphics. Serves as key voice for how to bring brand to life in motion language. The Senior Motion Designer will develop motion designs that enhance viewer engagement, contributing to a visually cohesive brand identity.

  • Partners with marketing and content teams to activate the content strategy by producing effective motion graphics. Works closely with digital team and other channel teams to leverage motion graphics to advance marketing and content strategies. The Senior Motion Designer will work through a collaborative and iterative design process under the guidance of the ED of Multimedia, and in close concert with creative and channel team leaders. The Senior Motion Designer will take ownership of motion graphic projects from concept to completion, ensuring deadlines are met and creative quality is maintained. They will provide guidance to junior designers/editors and interns fostering skill development and maintaining a high standard of motion design excellence across the team.

  • Ensures projects are completed on time on and budget. May require night and weekend work. Identifies and partners with vendors or freelancers as needed. Assists with editing for projects that involve heavy motion design elements. They will stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in motion design, bringing fresh and cutting-edge approaches to the team.

  • Partners with Manager of Marketing Technology to manage and leverage modern technology solutions (Photo Shelter). Responsible for ensuring systems allow for appropriate digitizing, archiving and logging of multimedia content, so it is searchable and well maintained.
