Title Nine is looking for a Senior Retail Merchant and Visual Merchandiser to join our team. The Senior Retail Merchant’s role will be to bring Title Nine’s brand to life through a compelling assortment AND VISUAL presentation for our retail stores. They will be responsible for recommending strategies that meet both short and long term business goals, curating our stores’ seasonal assortments, creating and executing floor sets, and evaluating and managing in-season sales performance. This role will work closely with our Inventory and Merchandising teams on big ideas and product placement strategy, our Retail Operations Team on floor set execution, and our Creative team to create assets for floor sets and in-store visuals.
This full time position is based in our Emeryville, CA office Monday-Thursday with the ability to work remotely on Fridays; occasional travel is also expected to visit our retail stores etc.
Retail Merchandising (75%):
Responsible for informing the Retail division’s sales targets and building product assortments from the Title Nine total offering that achieve those targets.
Prepare and present assortment reviews, reports and presentations for interdepartmental partners and teams, including Senior Leadership.
Analyze the Retail division’s sales, margin, vendor mix and product assortment regularly to consistently improve the business.
Partner with Inventory Planning to ensure allocation levels optimize planned merchandise assortments.
Lead Merchandising perspective in weekly business cross-functional meetings, driving to action points to achieve sales plans and margin.
Provide periodic competitive analysis, including pricing and promotional strategies, and marketplace trends.
Manage pre-season strategy and deliverables to prepare for new assortments.
Manage in-season strategy and deliverables to drive Retail sales recommending and executing potential assortment changes as needed.
Visual Merchandising (25%):
Deliver a unique and inspiring visual environment in our stores that utilizes knowledge of current styling and merchandising techniques that elevate the brand experience while driving profitable, retail sales.
Plan and implement seasonal floor sets for all store layouts; create detailed floor set records for each store manager to ensure strong execution within stores; lead monthly store walkthroughs with leadership at a local Bay Area store.
Work with Inventory, Merchandising, and Retail Operations on seasonal big ideas, block planning, and category merchandising plans.
Collaborate with Creative and Marketing teams on visual assets, omni-channel campaigns, brand-building, and creative concepting.

You also have:
Bachelor’s Degree in merchandising, product development, inventory, or similar field; or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of experience merchandising seasonal assortments for retail stores; apparel and/or women’s active wear experience is preferred
1-2 years of experience in VISUAL MERCHANDISING is highly desirable
Passion for Title Nine or activewear product.
Proven experience with data analysis and using numbers to ground you in your business.
Strong proficiency in Excel, with ability to analyze sales and inventory numbers.
Technical aptitude and proficiency in Mac OS; Google Sheets/Slides/Docs; MS Office.
Highly organized with the ability to multitask and prioritize independently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong team player; collaboration and communication with cross-functional team members.
