Senior Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical PE
Celtic is hiring! Celtic Engineering, Inc., a leader in mechanical / machine-design and specialty engineering within the Entertainment/Hospitality and structural engineering industries, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer for our Windermere, FL office.
A successful candidate will be a self-motivated currently active licensed professional engineer (PE) in the State of Florida who will lead technical scopes of a project with minimal supervision, executing responsibility for the detailed analysis and/or engineering creative design of mechanical components and systems associated with machine equipment and unique structures. Candidates without a PE will be considered with strong preference given to the ability to obtain PE licensure in Florida within 12-18 months of hire date.
As a seasoned Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead tasks in your expertise, nurturing project and team leadership skills and may assist the project manager with leading the project team. You will also have the option to grow further as a technical expert or develop further into a Project Manager.

Your Contributions to Our Team:
- Lead the detailed analysis and/or design of mechanical components and systems. Plan work flow and manage the execution of the engineering work
- Determine codes, loads, analysis methods and engineering tools appropriate.
Lead and encourage creative formulation of designs, evaluation of alternativesEvaluation of and specification of actuation systems
- Leverage your comprehensive design and analytical experience with different mechanisms, actuation systems, analysis methods and tools, design and analysis of dynamic structures, vibrations, and fatigue.
- Mentor junior engineers working under your direction.
- Proactively plan and execute work with increasing levels of engineering responsibility, may serve as EOR for the project.
- Demonstrate engineering creativity, flexibility, and adaptability to satisfy the client, the creative intent, and the engineer’s obligation to the public.
- Supervise the production of mechanical fabrication and assembly drawing packages. Emphasize design for manufacturing and assembly (DMFA), Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Oversee and guide engineering analysis and calculations including industry-leading high-fidelity analysis
- Manage and guide industry standard hazard analysis and failure modes and affects analysis
- Lead installation and provide testing supervision
- Champion thorough checking and QAQC of work under your directionWhat Contributions Do You Bring with You?
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (required).
- Graduate degree with emphasis in Mechanical Engineering is preferred but not required.
- Eight years minimum experience working with the design and analysis of mechanisms and actuated systems.
- Five years minimum working knowledge with Solid Works. PDM system experience preferred
- Excellent problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills, and communication abilities.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in a US state (strongly preferred).
- Ability to obtain PE license in Florida within 6 months of hire date (strongly preferred).
- Robust familiarity with manufacturing processes, fabrication and assembly of machines and mechanisms
- Strong organizational and time management skills
