Senior Mechanical Engineer

Seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our leadership team and own projects from ideation to production in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment!

About the Role
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design, release, and launch of trailer products along with new product development.

Responsibilities:

• Overall product design from concept to production of trailers, parts, fixtures for manufacturing, etc.
• Oversee and develop the Design Team using Solid Works to design products
• Produce specifications for products and select raw materials and components to be used in production
• Test new materials and components to evaluate feasibility for our products
• Develop manufacturing processes, focusing on process improvement by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building and assembling components
• Develop control systems, monitor production and assure product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and system capabilities
• Build prototypes and follow new products through the prototype process to validate designs and adjust accordingly
• Work collaboratively through design, engineering, and manufacturing issues and ensure manufacturability to resolve fabrication and assembly difficulties
• Serve as technical expert and provide leadership and mentoring for the team
• Responsible for meeting project costs/margins and target release dates

About You

• Experience in a steel manufacturing environment required
• Experience in design of steel structures or heavy equipment required
• Proficient with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, preferably Solid Works
• An innovator, out of the box thinker with natural leadership skills
• A can-do attitude with an ability to identify problems and solve them creatively 
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Agricultural engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience
