Hvac Senior Mechanical Engineer

Our client, a prominent leader in the commercial and industrial mechanical contracting sector, is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their dynamic team.

This position plays a pivotal role in managing and guiding engineering teams to success on a variety of projects across Western Washington. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing engineering direct reports, providing mentorship, managing budgets, and ensuring the high-quality execution of projects from conception through to completion.

Mechanical Engineer Job Responsibilities

Manage engineering direct reports, providing coaching and mentoring to foster professional growth.

Oversee and manage budgets for Investment Grade Audits or Pre-Construction Services Proposals.

Develop and communicate the scope of work for Facility Improvement Measures (FIMs) to clients clearly and efficiently.

Lead design teams through all design phases on projects, ensuring excellence and compliance with standards.

Collaborate with Construction Managers to establish Guaranteed Maximum (GMAX) Construction costs for projects in Western Washington.

Direct and manage the engineering team’s efforts on projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.

Review and oversee the methodology for creating Guaranteed Energy Savings, ensuring accuracy and reliability.

Manage the schedule for the development of projects, ensuring efficient progress and timely completion.

Qualifications

Extensive experience in Mechanical System Design, particularly HVAC systems.

Deep knowledge of current codes and guidelines, including the Washington State Energy Code.

Strong presentation skills, capable of effectively presenting to large audiences.

Skilled in negotiation, able to effectively discuss Scope of Work, Budget, and Schedule with clients.

Proven ability to manage and mentor a team of engineers.

Expertise in using Computer Simulation Loads Analysis and Energy Analysis Programs.

Experience in holding client meetings and developing the scope of work for energy projects.

Proficiency in Revit.

Must hold a Professional Engineering Certificate.
