This role will be responsible for all aspects of material requirements planning for multiple facilities such as inventory coordination, obsolescence risk mitigation, and procurement of materials to meet short and long-term production plans. They will also develop and maintain the optimized material planning forecast, network, and processes. Coordinating project and material change implementation between suppliers, co-manufacturers, and internal manufacturing sites are also vital components of our innovation process associated to this role. The Senior Materials Requirements Planner will be self-motivated, work independently in a dynamic organization, and coach Material Requirements Planners.
Position Responsibilities & Requirements
- Prepare annual forecast and three-month rolling forecasts for all materials and packaging, distributing to suppliers and internal contacts, as necessary, including creating and managing purchase orders (QAD) or arranging transportation of said materials throughout the network.
- Liaise with suppliers on information and issues relating to raw materials and packaging and initiate corrective actions, as necessary, including obsolescence risk mitigation.
- Monitor inventory, identify discrepancies between actual inventory and QAD and participate in the reconciliation. Assist the Inventory Team with the receipt entry of goods in the manufacturing information system (QAD) to ensure accurate receipt timing and resolve any concerns.
- Assist Master Data Team with maintaining accurate bill of materials for all SKUs in QAD, and maintain item master files which specify lead times, min/max orders, multiples, safety stocks, gross/net weights, standard costs by suppliers in QAD.
- Maintain Product Change related information and provide run out plans where necessary. Coordinate effective dates for raw material or packaging changes through suppliers and co packers and assist with reducing surplus and/or obsolete inventory.
- Assist in the development of Supplier Quality Assurance processes and metrics.
- Coach and mentor fellow MRPs.
- Analyze and drive KPI adherence across the team.
- Propose and lead continuous improvement process development within Materials Planning team.
- Other related duties and tasks as assigned.
