NPower is a national nonprofit that is committed to advancing race and gender equity in the tech industry through skills training, real-world experience, social support, and mentorships. The organization has helped young adults from underserved communities and veterans move from poverty to the middle class by training them with a range of tech skills and placing them in quality jobs. Students who enter the free, up to 20-week training program, earn industry-recognized certifications and graduate with the competencies of an IT professional with one to two years of experience. NPower also places students in paid internships with corporate and nonprofit organizations. Eighty percent of NPower graduates get a full-time job or continue their education. Not only is NPower changing life trajectories for individuals from vulnerable communities, but they are also strengthening the overall competitiveness of U.S. businesses hamstrung by today’s limited pool of IT talent.

We are looking for a collaborative, passionate, and ambitious Senior Marketing Manager who will be responsible for providing marketing support for creation and implementation of fundraising campaigns and strategies to support the organization's goals, providing marketing support and guidance to regional teams, and developing and executing successful marketing campaigns with a focus on lead generation.

The successful candidate will work closely with the fundraising team to create compelling messages, develop marketing materials that drive donations, monitor and fulfill fundraising grant deliverables.

The Senior Marketing Manager should have 6+ years of experience working in marketing with relevant experience in fundraising campaigns and cultivation efforts, social media and digital marketing. Reports to the Marketing Director.

This position is full-time and 90% remote, with one trip monthly to NY Headquarters and travel to Regions providing support. Preference given to candidates within commuting distance from headquarter offices in Dumbo, Brooklyn in New York City.


Primary Responsibilities

National Support

  • Work closely with the Partnerships team to create compelling messaging: develop marketing materials that effectively communicate the organization's mission, vision, and impact to donors includes writing copy for fundraising annual emails and appeals, engagement campaigns, and video scripting.
  • Partner with the Development team to manage and implement fundraising campaigns and marketing strategies: execute a comprehensive marketing plan that aligns with the fundraising team's objectives and supports the organization's overall goals.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure completion of donor grant deliverables (website, social media posts, and blog article features) includes tracking, fulfilling, and reporting out.
  • Partner with Marketing Director to support key national strategic initiatives (ex. Command Shift - Advancing Women of Color in Tech and Alumni Engagement)

General Marketing

  • Support the Marketing Director and team by demonstrating expertise in developing, implementing, measuring and evaluating multifaceted strategic marketing initiatives, plans and programs to grow and deepen engagement across multiple audiences (prospective students, funders, employer partners, alumni)
  • Lead content gathering and development to create organization reports and documents (ex. annual reports, impact reports, email newsletters, one pagers co-branded partner blogs, success stories feature/ profiles etc. )
  • Develop engaging content across NPower social channels includes managing and amplifying thought leadership and spotlighting of special appearances/ events

Regional Support

  • Serve as main point of contact for local regions (MI, NJ, NY) provide impactful marketing support and guidance to support regional teams in accomplishing goals and raise awareness of regional efforts
  • Work cross-functionally with regional teams to support recruitment and placement efforts includes development, implementation, and optimization of campaign ideas, lead generation, regional event planning and logistics (including graduation celebrations) and identifying local PR opportunities.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Excellent written (editing and scripting)/ oral communication skills with special attention to details *Writing samples to be provided upon request*
  • Strong storytelling skills using data analytics and familiarity with video production to share impactful stories preferred
  • Working knowledge and experience using Mailchimp, Wordpress, Salesforce or other similar platforms; ability to learn new tools quickly
  • Familiarity with fundraising platforms (Givelively/Tayment) and tools, best practices, strategies, processes, and trends
  • Ability to communicate and interface effectively with all levels of management including senior executive leadership and CEO
  • Comfortability with social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, TikTok) posting and reporting on analytics and metrics
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-pace, cross-functional environment utilizing multi-tasking and time-management skills to prioritize multiple priorities
  • Must be willing to have fun within a collaborative, virtual environment including brainstorming while showing up as one’s true self. And willing to share restaurant recommendations!
