SET THE COURSE
The Product Safety & Regulatory ComplianceSenior Manager ensures Tommy Bahama products meet legal and Product Safety standards. Leading the development and implementation of our compliance strategies, including RSL, and establishing product compliance frameworks. Track key changes in the regulatory landscape to determine the business impact to Tommy Bahama. Engage and establish cross-functional partnerships to communicate, collaborate, influence, and implement safety and regulatory strategies that positively impact our business. This position requires strong leadership skills, deep knowledge of global product compliance regulations and excellent communication and collaboration skills.
BE THE ISLAND GUIDE
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive global product compliance strategy aligned with the company's business objectives and values.
  • Establish a strong due-diligence procedure to track, gather, and follow up with all vendors on a regular basis
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, best practices, standards, and regulatory changes, attend industry meetings and conferences, and develop strategies to maintain future compliance and to ensure Tommy Bahama's compliance practices are current and effective.
  • Interpret new legislation to determine business impact and effectively communicate those changes to internal stakeholders.
  • Implement processes to monitor and track changes in regulations, standards, and industry best practices to ensure Tommy Bahama compliance practices are current and effectively communicate those changes to internal stakeholders.
  • Lead efforts to identify, interpret and assess global product compliance regulations, including but not limited to safety, quality, labeling, trims, chemical restrictions, restricted substances, and environmental regulations.
  • Ensure product compliance with applicable laws and regulations in all target markets.
  • Implement and manage compliance programs to evaluate suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors for compliance with Product Safety and quality standards.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate internal teams on product compliance obligations and best practices.
  • Receive and review product test reports and give direction on resolution of test failures
  • Manage and resolve any issues related to product quality or compliance, including customer complaints and product recalls.
  • Manage partnerships with external third-party testing labs and product quality experts.
  • Draft policy documents to inform internal teams and vendors of Product Safety and compliance requirements. Update and maintain compliance manuals, protocols, labeling guidance, standard operating procedures, and other directives as needed.
  • Address internal business partner and vendor questions on safety, labeling, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Send brand RSLs and testing requirements to suppliers/vendors and collect confirmation that they have read, understood, and can meet requirements.
  • Prepare and present clear analytical reports to company executives and stakeholders.
  • Guide and evaluate the performance, goal achievement and growth of direct reports. Provide feedback and development opportunities as appropriate.

ESSENTIALS FOR LIFE IN PARADISE
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, manufacturing, chemistry, law, environmental science or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Generally, 10+ years of product compliance management preferably within the apparel industry, with a focus on global
  • Generally, 2+ years management or supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of international product compliance regulations, standards, and testing protocols. (e.g. REACH, CPSIA, Proposition 65, Oeko-Tex, etc.)
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective compliance strategies and programs.
  • Excellent understanding of supply chain processes and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Detail oriented, analytical and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent data & analytical skills and a strong detail focus
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills; must have an ability to manage deadlines, multiple projects & pivot as needed
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a service approach
  • Ability to master, on-the-job, new subjects and new ways of working, as the needs of the business evolve
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Multiple factors will vary the applicable rate of pay for this role, including an individual's experience, knowledge, and skillset, as well as work location and available budget.
Rate Range: $100,072 to $166,787 annually
