Job description

From the beginning, Starbucks set out to be a different kind of company. One that not only celebrated coffee and its rich tradition, but that also brought a feeling of connection. We are known for developing and supporting partners who share this passion and are guided by their service to others.

The sr. manager Partner Relations contributes to Starbucks success by acting as a strategic business partner and Employee Relations expert to retail leaders and Partner Resources teams in the U.S.

This role engages in strategic project work that impacts the partner experience and leads a team of managers and consultants to ensure that retail partners are supported in a fair manner that is consistent with Starbucks Mission and Values. The role also assists in defining and implementing the direction and structure for the Partner Relations Center of Excellence.

Leveraging your previous experience, we will enable you to:

As a member of the leadership team, help shape and develop our Partner Relations strategy, practices and procedures. Recommend adjustments to team structure and organization design; maintain staffing levels and balance team workload. Facilitate training and immersions as needed.

  • Build, sustain, and lead a high-performing team of managers and inspire them to deliver superior performance.
  • Enable leaders to deliver an exceptional partner experience and mitigate risk through consultation with Business Units and Partner Resources teams on Employee Relations and other human resources-related issues.
  • Ensure and oversee the provision of accurate interpretation of employment laws and regulations and consistent development and delivery of corrective action.
  • Provide guidance on escalated partner questions and concerns or investigations that may be highly visible or sensitive in nature. Ensure that outcomes are consistent and adhere with Starbucks standards, policies, procedures, and Starbucks Mission and Values.
  • Provide guidance on the evolution of Starbucks policies, procedures, standards, and practices. Consult on identified gaps in policy or policy interpretation to ensure greater clarity and compliance.
  • Identify and share human resources trends affecting the partner experience to retail operations and Partner Resources leaders. Influence and collaborate on action plans; lead the creation of new resources as needed to positively impact trends.
  • Recommend, lead and/or participate in team, departmental or cross-functional projects to improve the partner experience and/or drive efficiency.

We’d love to hear from people with:

  • 8 years: Increasingly responsible human resources generalist experience including 5 years in a multi-unit retail environment, with an emphasis on employee and labor relations, including coaching/performance management, consultation, career development, and project management.
  • 6 years: Consulting with internal clients to identify business needs and recommend solutions.
  • 5 years: Leadership experience in managing mid to large size muti-tiered teams.
  • Must be able to work core business hours of Pacific or Mountain Time Zone

Let us give you the opportunity to be part of something bigger than yourself. It’s time for you to #beapartner. Apply today!
