Reporting directly to the Strategic Sourcing Director in Jacksonville, the candidate will drive procurement activities in the new Product Introduction space, with a key focus on supplier relationship management standard methodologies (SRM), sourcing processes and delivery of results to meet & exceed the Vision Care Franchise Procurement objectives.
They will ensure that Strategic Sourcing is an early key partner with a seat at the table with R&D for developing and driving New Product sourcing strategies and provide overall co-ordination, facilitation and enablement of programs that will drive standard process. The role will also be a Change Agent to represent Supply Chain/Base Business requirements, by being a cross-functional influencer.

Key Responsibilities:
- In partnership with key partner organizations (R&D, Supply Chain, Supplier/NPI Quality and Category Procurement) the role will look to optimize quality, supply reliability, innovation, and cost by engaging with suppliers in the early development phase process.
- In partnership with JJVC R&D, Business Development and Supply Chain organizations, develop and implement a technology roadmap to support supplier and category strategy development and set the strategy on supplier selection.
- Drive the sourcing and qualification of suppliers of raw materials and services for all assigned projects. Projects will primarily be focused on establishing the overall supply base for new Vision Care products, in alignment with the supply base strategic direction.
- Lead negotiations with selected supplier(s) to establish supply and other relevant agreements with key partners during the development process.
- Perform the role of Supplier Relationship Manager, by engaging at an executive level for key suppliers involved in the new product development phase
- Drive process to provide inputs required from Strategic Sourcing for the NPD Development stage gates and other management report outs.
- Drive innovation by identifying and developing supplier capabilities to meet future technology needs. Collaborate closely with the MedTech Supply Chain and R&D Procurement category teams to influence and complete category strategies in new product introductions.
- Lead Local procurement initiatives as needed. Support transition of NPD suppliers into the base business organization.
- Apply standard methodology tools such as Cost Breakdown/Gap Modeling and Pre-Negotiation

Education:
- BS Degree or equivalent experience preferably in Finance, Business, Engineering, Operations Management or related field.
Required:
- Minimum of 8 years proven experience in a procurement role managing Strategic Supplier Relationships.
- Demonstrated understanding in New Product Development (NPD) or Life Cycle Management (LCM) Roadmap and/or methodology
- Proven track record in project management and change management.
- Analytical - absorb information & solve complex problems quickly
- Able to lead cross-functional teams to drive projects to successful completion.
- Senior management participation and leadership: setting direction, influencing, goal alignment, lead & influence others in a matrix organization.

- Experience in Medical Devices or related industry is preferred.
- CPIM (Certified in Production & Inventory Management), Supply Chain, Procurement or Operations focused professional certification (e.g. APICS, ISM, Six Sigma, etc.) is desirable.
- Excellent negotiating skills, should cost modelling and other cost management tools preferred
- This position may require up to 10% travel (Domestic and International)
- English Fluency is required
