Job summary:

Oversees the development, support, and continued improvement of manufacturing processes across major functions or multiple facilities.

What you will do:

• Lead team of Manufacturing Engineers supporting the machine shop responsible for:
  • Ensuring process safety for all operations.
  • Drivetrain component machining process design.
  • Generating and maintaining Standard Work, operator work instructions.
  • Generating and maintaining JMIs, IS drawings, machine shop routings.
  • Working with process partners to optimize machine shop OEE of constraints.
• Support and develop team members to continuously improve technical abilities, leadership, and business acumen.
• Lead capital strategy and execution.
  • Working with process partners to ensure machine shop capacity alignment to business needs.
  • Develop and optimize five-year capital plans to meet projected needs of KK machine shop including replacement and improvement of assets.
  • Coordinate capital machine selection and purchasing following appropriate accounting and NCI processes.
• Lead and support process changes, ensure proper change management using PCNs, AQEs, ETQ and other supporting systems.
• Lead the NPI process and execution.
• Lead and support special projects as necessary.

Skills you must have:

• Operational Functions: Extensive knowledge of machining functional processes and associated operating requirements; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
• Collaborating: Extensive knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
• Continuous Transformation: Knowledge of evolving the business to remain competitive; ability to understand, adapt oneself to, respond to and proactively seek changes and innovation in the business environment to improve the competitive advantage of an organization. This includes providing financial justification and approval seeking for large scale capital investment and transformational projects.
• Organizational Leadership: Knowledge of leadership concepts and ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives.
• Influencing Through Expertise: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to use these to deepen own expertise and impact or challenge decisions within and outside own organization.
• Project Management: Extensive knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics (Six Sigma methodologies); ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
• Capacity Planning & Management - MFG: Extensive knowledge of tools, approaches and practices for determining production demand and ability to manage resources needed to provide satisfactory levels of service.
• Lean Manufacturing: Expert knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.
• Education: Bachelors Degree in a technical curriculum or equivalent experience
   

Top candidates will also have:

• Masters Degree in a technical curriculum or a MBA
• Demonstrated success in the completion of NPI and New source Introduction projects
• Experience as a leader of leaders
• Strong executive presence
