Production Supervisor
The primary responsibility of this position is to act as a Production Manager of the Thermal Reduction department for Heraeus Precious Metals North America, LLC. The Production Manager is responsible for the day-today execution of all Thermal Reduction Production and Sampling processes to meet customer demands while maintaining a reasonable margin. Furthermore, he is fully responsible for all issues related to the Thermal Reduction department. This can be allocated to each site separately or, could be inclusive of both sites: as manpower needs dictate.
Your Role & Responsibilities:
- Leads the Thermal Reduction Department team (incl. PGM burning/milling/blending/sampling as well as Ag burning/milling/blending/sampling/smelting) in the day-today execution of production, packaging and shipping.
- Maximized and measure the productivity of all thermal reduction production related functions and adjusts methods, processes, procedures and training where needed to increase productivity, efficiency and safety.
- Optimizes precious metal throughput, lead time and quality in the thermal reduction department.
- Reduces overtime and shift handover time and costs in the department.
- Assures precious metal security during all processes and especially during handovers to adjacent departments. Furthermore, assures precious metal tracking in the department and during handovers to other departments.
- Is responsible for the reduction of occupational accidents in the area to zero.
- Assures safety and environmental training for his staff.
- If responsible for the introduction and future compliance with the QM 2001 and DIN EN ISO 14001 system in the department.
What is required for this role:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering preferred but not required.
- 5 years' experience in lead or supervisory role in manufacturing.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Basic math skills with the abilities to add, subtract,multiply, and covert calculations to percentages and to metric system.
- Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Mircosoft Excel
- Ability to lift up to 75lbs unassisted.
- Ability to work in exterem tempertures, heat and cold.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to make decisions quickly.
