Phillip Jeffries is looking for Senior Manager of Manufacturing!

We are looking for a leader to oversee the day-to-day operations of Phillip Jeffries’ manufacturing facilities. In this role, you will report to and collaborate with our Vice President of Supply Chain.
What you will be doing:
Leadership
- Being a steward of Phillip Jeffries’ Great & Worthy Purpose (GWP), Mission, Vision and Values and having apprentice stewards at every level
- Provide world-class quality standards to consistently provide customers What they want, when they want it, the Way they want it.
- Oversee and manage different manufacturing facilities in the US and Japan from a process improvement standpoint, maximize output, improve processes, shorten lead times and maintain best in quality.
- Manage the department with lean thinking to increase productivity.
- Act as safety steward ensuring proper safety training and certifications for all personnel and equipment.
- Create backup plans, preventative agreements to have consistent production flow with no breakdowns in process.
Project Management
- Lead cross-functional project core teams to on-time project completion, while maintaining or exceeding quality standards and estimated cost projections. Enforce project milestones & deadlines are met; Assist with completion of critical deliverables.
- Own and create detailed project plans; and determine core project team members.
- Facilitate project communication to core team, extended team, and functional managers.
- Provide timely communication of project progress, roadblocks and solutions to the Vice President of Supply Chain as well as support managers for immediate solutions.
Process Engineering/Improvement:
- Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives to eliminate waste of value streams by empowering/teaching others the Lean and practical problem-solving tools.
- Continually review manufacturing processes and make appropriate recommendations to the Vice President of Supply Chain and support Managers for improving productivity, efficiency and/or quality.
- Maintains and implements cost improvement/control programs.
- Assess and determine if new manufacturing machines, methods are needed.
- Plan & determine optimal utilization of staff to meet manufacturing goals. Ensures that the required manpower competence, skill, knowledge, and equipment required to achieve the production/demand targets.
- Analyze manufacturing data and identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement; identify and utilize methods of making manufacturing process more efficient and effective (reducing waste, using lean).
- Handle all direct corrections of any manufacturing issues/roadblocks
Production Planning:
- Establish workflow policies and processes that enhance speed and efficiency without compromising product quality, safety, or integrity
- Create and communicate weekly production schedules; ensure deadlines are met.
- Resolve production scheduling issues by analyzing report and developing solutions.
- Determine daily, weekly and monthly metrics regarding manufacturing performance.
- Create dashboards of metrics to be shared with the team and senior management.
- Hire, train, and evaluate staff in the US location; monitor staff to ensure they meet performance requirements.
- Ensure all employees follow industry standard health and safety guidelines
Must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, plus 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience contributing to a production team in a Lean manufacturing environment., Six Sigma a plus
- Demonstrated understanding and utilization of lean tools to help facilitate continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience collaborating with all levels of organization, driving initiatives and/or technology related projects.
- Expert in data analysis including extraction, data manipulations, troubleshooting and metrics / reporting
- Able to address and resolve people, process, or resource issues in a fast paced, multiple priority environment.
- Ability to lead and mentor staff to achieve significant results as well as effective team building, communication, and verbal skills.
- Demonstrated training experience with manufacturing tools & techniques, standards, regulations; preferred.
- Possess high professional ethics, good judgment, and ability to take make timely decisions.
- Multinational company experience, preferred
- Must be able and willing to travel 3-4 times a year internationally
