Job Summary:
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for the organization's IT infrastructure to support business objectives and growth. Team Leadership: Manage and lead a team of IT professionals, including infrastructure engineers and administrators, to ensure high performance, productivity, and alignment with department goals.
Essential Functions:
Oversee the operation and development of the Digger platform, ensuring its alignment with company goals and objectives.
Infrastructure Management: Oversee the day-to-day management and maintenance of all IT infrastructure components, including servers, networks, storage, and data centers.
Technology Roadmap: Define and maintain a technology roadmap that includes hardware and software upgrades, replacements, and improvements to enhance system reliability and performance.
Security and Compliance: Ensure the security and compliance of IT infrastructure by implementing best practices, security measures, and adherence to relevant regulations and standards.
Budget Management: Develop and manage the IT infrastructure budget, including cost estimation, forecasting, and resource allocation to support departmental needs.
Vendor Management: Collaborate with technology vendors to evaluate and select suitable solutions, negotiate contracts, and maintain productive vendor relationships.
Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and backup strategies to ensure business continuity in the event of system failures or disasters.
IT Governance: Establish and enforce IT governance policies, procedures, and standards to maintain a controlled and compliant IT environment.
Emerging Technologies: Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends in IT infrastructure to make informed decisions about adopting new solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
Project Management: Oversee infrastructure-related projects, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget, with minimal disruptions to daily operations.
Performance Monitoring: Implement monitoring and reporting tools to track system performance, identify issues, and proactively address them.
Collaboration: Collaborate with other IT departments and business units to align infrastructure initiatives with organizational goals and ensure smooth cross-functional operations.
Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures to support troubleshooting and knowledge sharing.
Team Development: Encourage professional growth and development of team members through training, mentoring, and performance evaluations.
Change Management: Lead change management efforts to implement infrastructure changes, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Customer Service: Foster a customer-focused culture, ensuring that the IT infrastructure team delivers high-quality services to internal users and external clients.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
4-5 years relevant work experience using C#, Typescript, Azure
1-2 years management experience
Substantial experience in IT infrastructure management, including a proven track record of progressively responsible roles. Typically, 7-10 years or more of relevant experience is expected.
Experience in Entity Framework
Experience in Azure DevOps
Experience in managing scrum teams
Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance IT infrastructure performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with IT infrastructure, proactively addressing potential vulnerabilities and threats.
Business Continuity: Develop and maintain a robust business continuity plan to ensure that IT infrastructure disruptions do not result in significant business interruptions. Education: A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field is typically required. A master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, ITIL, PMP) may be preferred.
Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills with a demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and motivate an IT infrastructure team.
Strategic Thinking: The capability to think strategically, align IT infrastructure with organizational goals, and develop and implement technology roadmaps.
Technical Proficiency: In-depth technical knowledge of IT infrastructure components, including servers, networks, storage, and data centers.
Budget Management: Experience in budget development, financial planning, and cost control for IT infrastructure initiatives.
Vendor Relations: Strong vendor management skills, including contract negotiation, vendor selection, and relationship management.
Project Management: Proficiency in project management, with a track record of successfully managing IT infrastructure projects from initiation to completion.
Compliance and Security: A solid understanding of IT compliance standards, cybersecurity, and the ability to ensure infrastructure is compliant and secure.
Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address infrastructure-related issues effectively.
Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders and foster collaboration.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Advanced Education: A master's degree in a relevant field or professional certifications, such as CISSP, ITIL, PMP, or others, can be preferred qualifications.
Industry Experience: Specific experience within the industry or a related field can be an advantage, as it brings a deep understanding of sector-specific challenges and requirements.
Change Management: Additional expertise in change management methodologies and strategies to navigate complex infrastructure changes.
Emerging Technologies: Familiarity with emerging technologies and their potential impact on IT infrastructure, as well as the ability to make informed decisions about technology adoption.
Customer Service Orientation: Experience in implementing a customer-focused culture within the IT infrastructure team, ensuring high-quality service delivery to internal and external clients.
Continuous Improvement: Expertise in driving continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing infrastructure performance, and optimizing costs.
Risk Management: Strong risk management skills to identify and mitigate potential infrastructure vulnerabilities and threats.
Travel %: Up to 10%
Physical Demands and Equipment Use:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Frequently communicate via telephone, email, messaging.
