Location: This role is hybrid in the Los Angeles area.

Salary Range: 120,000-135,000 based on experience

JOB SUMMARY

The role of Senior Manager of Demand Planning is to manage the gross sales (shipment) forecasts for the total brand/company and effectively conduct monthly consensus reviews with Sales, Finance, Marketing and all other business partners. This role will hold primary responsibility to coordinate with Sales, Finance, Product Development and Marketing to ensure an accurate demand outlook. Present to management the unbiased current state of business and gain their buy-in for month end forecast submissions and/or annual budgets. The ideal candidate will have the ability to define continuous improvement opportunities in Demand Planning based on review of forecast variances to support a fast growing, innovative brand.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducting monthly consensus review to drive forecast alignments from Sales, Marketing and Finance
  • Responsible for defining 18 month rolling demand plan by item and customer group, which triggers factory capacity plan and raw material purchasing plan
  • Develop effective forecast models based on industry trends and available demand patterns for assigned accounts.
  • Assess actual product performance in comparison to plan to determine variances and relay findings; for ongoing items make recommendations based on findings for forward forecast revisions.
  • Track and improve forecast accuracy and drive business improvement from Demand Planning through to supply planning
  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and other functions to ensure all factors affecting demand are considered, and promote alignment and visibility across groups.
  • Understand opportunities related to business reasoning in the latest demand plan, including upside and downside opportunities
  • Communicate ongoing forecast changes to stakeholders in the Supply Chain, Sales, and Marketing teams.
  • Prepare and/or develop various reports with KPIs (key performance indicators) as well as diagnostic measures to analyze and recommend courses of action for the operational forecast
  • Share relevant insights and learnings with brand stakeholders for continuous improvement of new launch & base forecasts.
  • Assist as needed to support Demand Reviews, Consensus meetings and Brand S&OP meetings

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience within Demand Planning, Sales Planning or Supply Chain required with Beauty or Consumer Packaged Goods industry experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Advanced excel skills and experience working with excel-based forecasting models.
  • Analytically strong with the ability to look at numbers and draw conclusions about actions to be taken
  • Solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can pivot to changing demands of the business.
  • Self-driven and highly motivated.
  • Able to communicate effectively with key stakeholders and cross-functional partners.
