Located in our Newport Beach California office, the Senior Manager of Corporate Finance & Accounting will be an integral part of the company’s finance function. Reporting directly to the Director of Accounting and Financial Reporting, the Senior Manager of Corporate Finance & Accounting will be responsible for corporate financial planning and analysis, financial statement packages, corporate budgeting and variance analysis, corporate profitability reporting, cash flow forecasting, as well as overseeing the company-wide treasury function. The position is required to work in-office at least 5-days a week.
The Job Essentials:
Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Oversee financial reports for monthly, quarterly, and annual packages.
- Prepare monthly departmentalized P&Ls for department heads to track net operating profit.
- Develop detailed budget variance reporting. Make necessary adjustments to the GLs based on department head feedback.
- Develop corporate projections, including profitability analysis.
- Develop detailed corporate cash flow forecasts.
- Analyze financials and prepare various reports summarizing relevant KPIs.
- Develop detailed company valuation reports to present to Executives.
- Oversee financial statement reporting process, including the review of support schedules, budget-to-actual variances as well as monthly and quarterly management discussions & analysis reports.
- Perform ad hoc Corporate Finance assignments, as needed.
Treasury & Liquidity Management
- Oversee daily cash position reporting and liquidity analysis.
- Work closely with Acquisitions team on cash needs relating to acquisitions, refinancing activities, and dispositions.
- Forecast cash flow positions, related borrowing needs, and funds available for investment.
- Ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements.
- Advise management on the liquidity impacts of its short- and long-range planning.
- Maintain a system of policies and procedures that impose an adequate level of control over treasury activities.
- Develop, manage, and collaborate with Accounting and Asset Management on an efficient loan draw process to ensure timely funding of capital improvements.
- Monitor company-wide risk exposure to financial institutions.
- Lead Treasury initiatives to optimize working capital in the company as it relates to A/R, A/P, inventory, and settlement flows.
- Oversee bank account administration (user setup, audits, etc.).
- Oversee banking file integration into the Company's IT systems.
- Oversee day-to-day banking relationships.
Accounting & Reporting:
- Oversee full-cycle accounting duties for the BKM corporate entities including preparation and analysis of the financial statements, general ledgers, and subsidiary ledgers.
- Ensure complete and accurate books for all management entities within Yardi, including general partner entities.
- Ensure accuracy and effectiveness in all corporate accounting tasks.
- Oversee the verification, allocation, and posting of accounts payable and receivable.
- Review and approve accurate entries/reports/schedules needed to complete a timely financial close in accordance with GAAP.
- Assist with tax compliance and tax returns.
- Oversee maintenance of fixed assets processes and GL subledger.
- Perform ad hoc accounting assignments, as needed.
The Qualifiers:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related degree.
- 7+ years of corporate accounting or finance experience, preferably in investment management or real estate.
- 3+ years’ experience in financial planning and analysis.
- 3+ years’ experience in a treasury function position.
- CPA preferred.
- Advanced Excel capabilities, including cash flow modeling.
- Knowledge of departmentalized / segment accounting & consolidation.
- Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Motivated and results-driven with strong work ethic.
- Yardi Voyager experience desired.
