About the role:  

As the Senior Manager of Communications and Events, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our integrated communication strategies while overseeing the planning and execution of events. You will be responsible for enhancing our brand presence, maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders, and ensuring the success of various corporate events. 

Your contributions will be key in enhancing D-Wave's positioning and visibility while increasing awareness to drive our communication goals. What you'll do:

• Formulate and execute comprehensive communication plans (spanning earned, owned, social and paid media), integrating seamlessly with broader marketing initiatives that align with our organizational objectives 
• Provide strategic communication counsel to senior leadership and internal employees 
• Craft attention-grabbing storylines and narratives that extend the company's brand with a multitude of audiences while leverage macro-economic and technology trends for relevance 
• Draft compelling content including press releases, thought leadership articles, blog posts, social media posts, and other materials to enhance and maintain our media presence 
• Safeguard and enhance our company brand identity through strategic communication initiatives 
• Write and edit for different types of channels and audiences while implementing leading communication practices 
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including executives, customers, and partners 
• Lead the end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of corporate events, including conferences, product launches, webinars, and social live events  
• Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Product, Sales, and Business Services 

What you'll bring:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field preferred 
• 6-8 years of progressive experience in communications, ideally in the technology, cloud, or SaaS industry 
• Proven success in developing and executing communication strategies 
• Strong understanding of media relations, social media, crisis communication, and brand management 
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills 
• Leadership experience with a track record of managing successful teams and/or external agencies 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously 
• Interest in applying cutting-edge communications platforms and tools 
• Collaborative, roll-up-your sleeves attitude  
• Endless curiosity and eagerness to learn new things and try new approaches
