We have an opening for a Senior Manager, Business Development - Strategic Pursuits Lead.
The Senior Manager, Business Development – Strategic Pursuits Lead will be responsible for leading the response to firm-wide and cross-practice RFP responses and building and maintaining the Strategic Pursuits Center.
In this capacity, the Senior Manager, Business Development – Strategic Pursuits Lead, will:
- Serve as RFP lead and project manager for all panel and cross-practice RFP’s;
- Draft and prepare written proposals in collaboration with the Business Development Managers and Billing Attorneys;
- Collaborate with the Pricing, General Counsel office, Conflicts, DEI, Talent, etc. to ensure responses are accurate and current;
- Build and maintain a response knowledge base for all response types within scope;
- Develop and rollout best practice processes and resources to support the efficiency and growth of the Strategic Pursuits Center;
- Develop internal benchmarks to track performance and regularly complete a win/loss analysis to determine improvement areas;
- Continuously review latest benchmarks, technology innovations, and peer set best practices to ensure the function best enables the response process; and
- Support on additional projects within the Business Development Department or Firm as assigned.
Proficiencies:
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite;
- Knowledge of technologies, developments, trends and literature related to legal and professional services marketing fields;
- Excellent verbal and communication skills, including attention to detail and proofreading;
- Excellent written skills and proven track record of responding to firm-wide and cross-practice RFPs in a law firm;
- Solid understanding of the needs and expectations of law firm operations and corporate legal clients in order to function at a strategic level;
- Advanced knowledge of marketing principles, procedures, concepts and practical applications;
- Fundamental knowledge of networking and relationship management;
- Proficiency in team building and management; and
- Fundamental knowledge of legal concepts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (required) with an emphasis in marketing, law or business (preferred); Advanced degree (preferred);
- At least 10 years of marketing professional experience (required);
- At least 5 years of management experience in a corporate, law firm or relevant professional services industry setting;
- At least 3 years of Pursuit/RFP center experience in a corporate, law firm or relevant professional services industry setting; and
- Experience leading a team delivering Pursuit responses.

The salary wage range that we expect to pay for this position is a minimum of $160,900 and a maximum of $233,400 annually. The actual pay wage may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.
