What Are We Looking For:
Conhagen is seeking a master manual machinist with at least ten years of familiarity in interpreting blueprints to manufacture rotary components by employing manual lathes and mills with lead experience.
Shift:
Monday-Friday (dayshift) 6 am-2:30 pm
Monday-Friday (swing shift) 9:30 am- 6:00 pm

Typical Shift at the Shop:
- Establish the sequence of tasks to fulfill the work order successfully.
- Fabricate intricate parts from examples, blueprints, drawings, or directions using steel, cast iron, aluminum, brass, and stainless steel.
- Deploy precision measuring tools such as internal & external micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, depth gauges, verniers, and dial indicators.
- Inspect the machinery thoroughly to guarantee its proper function and modify the feed and velocity as required.
- Operate transportation machinery like forklifts and overhead cranes to move products between production areas.
- Employ hand tools to mark and measure various materials for cutting.
- Observe and promote compliance to all applicable H.S.E. directives: company, state, and federal (OSHA rules included.)
- Train apprentice machinists in operational/technical procedure methods with mentorship.
- Distribute work to other machinists and manage the department in the supervisor's absence when necessary.
Requirements:
- Adequate understanding of the English language (spoken & written.)
- Must have the authorization to work in the U.S. and be able to provide proof of entitlement.
- All candidates receiving an employment offer must pass a standard drug and background screening before employment begins.
- Possess a minimum ten-year background in manual machining in a relevant field.
- In-depth knowledge and ability in drill presses, horizontal presses, engine lathes, horizontal bore mills, horizontal & vertical lathes, key seaters, coordinate measuring machines, cylindrical grinding, and facing tools.
- · Hold and measure tolerances within five-thousandths of an inch.
- Possess leadership capacity or substantial leadership experience from prior roles.
- Possess a history of complying with safety regulations and participating in safe practices.
- · Possess proficiency in the diverse characteristics of materials (including hardness, velocity, optional fit, feed, and technique specifications).
Working Conditions:
- Predominantly in a machining shop environment
- A lively atmosphere in which product cycles are subject to fluctuations.
- Perform work near machinery with a moderate level of noise.
- Donning specified safety P.P.E. (eyeglasses & ear protection) is a must.
- Working with ladders is a potential part of the job.
- Conhagen may request an extension of hours to meet customer requirements.
- Overtime Opportunities.

- Steel-toe footwear is mandatory.
