This position will be based in New York, NY (Metro) and requires regular travel within your assigned territory.  Occasional travel to company sites may be required as needed.

As a vital ambassador for Gallo's luxury brands, your role will span establishing and nurturing relationships with iconic fine wine retailers and premier dining establishments, ensuring our luxury wines' prominence in the marketplace. Your strategic mindset will be crucial in navigating the diverse channels of distribution and revenue generation, focusing on maximizing our luxury brands' presence and performance.

 

In this pivotal position, you will collaborate closely with distributor management and field teams to execute impactful sales plans, leveraging market insights and pricing strategies to foster growth. Your expertise in fine wines and the Luxury Market will guide your decisions, focusing your efforts on high-opportunity accounts and initiatives that promise the highest returns. You will also spearhead training programs, enhancing selling techniques across teams to elevate our brands' status in the competitive luxury space. Your role extends beyond sales; you're the face of Gallo's luxury segment at high-profile events, engaging with customers and consumers to build lasting relationships and loyalty to our brands. Through meticulous planning and execution, you will support the launch of new products, ensuring they capture the attention and admiration of our discerning audience. We're looking for a candidate with a deep understanding of the Luxury Market, a strategic and innovative mindset, and the ability to foster strong, productive relationships both within and outside the organization. What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of Gallo luxury wine or spirits experience in sales, marketing, restaurant/hospitality, or distributor reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of luxury wine or spirits experience in sales, marketing, restaurant/hospitality, or distributor reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 8 years of Gallo luxury wine or spirits experience in sales, marketing, restaurant/hospitality, or distributor reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or state-issued equivalency certificate plus 9 years of luxury wine or spirits experience in sales, marketing, restaurant/hospitality, or distributor reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • CSW, equivalent accreditations (i.e., WSET levels 1-4, Sommelier, CSS), or in the process of earning accreditations.
  • On-premise and retail sales experience.
  • Candidates for this position must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record. Required to obtain a California driver’s license or appropriate state driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
  • Required to be 21 years of age or older.
  • Required to obtain liquor license as required by state/locality.
  • Required to travel by air and automobile up to 50% during the course of business.
  • Required to see, taste, and smell wine and perform product tastings as part of job functions.
  • Experience demonstrating strong leadership selling, time management, public speaking skills.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

What You Will Set You Apart:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of Gallo winery or distributor sales experience to include a prior rotation as a Portfolio Consultant, Business Development Manager, Market Development Manager Sr, or Account Manager 2; OR Bachelor's degree plus 7 years of external luxury wine or spirits alcohol sales experience to include luxury experience.
  • Possess a CSW, CSS or other equivalent certification.

Compensation:

  • Hiring salary range posted: $107,800 - $161,800 / year
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
