Travel & Lifestyle Services (TLS) is one of the largest multi-channel consumer travel agencies in the world. TLS responsible for delivering premium travel and lifestyle services to Card Members through a network of over 6,000 global travel advisors in 23 markets around the world. The team oversees the digital travel booking experience, travel benefits and programs, a global network of 1,400 lounges, supplier partnerships, and marketing and engagement strategies for the premium Card Member base.

The Global Lounge Experiences team is a high impact group within the Travel & Lifestyle Services organization, responsible for owning the Global Lounge Collection benefit which encompasses the Centurion Lounge network, airline lounge partners (Delta, Lufthansa) and network access partners (Priority Pass). The team is looking for a dynamic, proactive Senior Manager within Lounge Business Development. This team focuses on domestic and international lounges, and offers a varied environment with huge opportunity for autonomy and growth.

The team overseas every part of the lounge process from establishing strategy and identify key markets through to project management up to lounge open date. The B35 will be responsible for a variety of roles including analytics and financial analysis, preparation of responses to Request for Proposals (RFPs), developing relationships with key airport stakeholders, supporting contract negotiation and leading project manage through lounge open. This is a unique role seeking a dynamic, proactive, analytical individual passionate about travel and excited to work in a supportive, unique team!

Key Responsibilities: Financial Analysis - Ability to build and develop excel financial models to evaluate key commercial terms and potential P&L impact, including scenario analysis. Ability to read and interpret cost-benefit analysis and complete sensitivity analyses as required. Support internal stakeholders and collaborate to secure funding for AXP financial investment.

Project Management - Play a central role in project management of processes from inception of a lounge (e.g., contract negotiation) through to managing construction schedule and pre-opening timeline. Will be required to understand the needs of key stakeholders and ensure timely and clear communication across all parties, and track progress to meet deadlines. Contract Negotiation - Lead documentation and contract support, including lease, operator and partnerships contracts as needed.

Manage negotiation and execution process, ensuring contracts are vetted and approved through necessary channels including legal, compliance, bank affiliate, etc. Ensure all parties are meeting commitments throughout lounge build, hiring and operations or partnership relationship. Cross-functional Collaboration - Develop collaborative relationships with critical internal and external stakeholders including Premium Product Management, Legal, Real Estate, Branding, Global Supply Management, Centurion Lounge Operations, Product Management & Marketing, Controllership, Partnerships, Finance, New Product Development.

Strategic Analysis and Support - Identifying data required to understand premium customer needs and analyzing as necessary to extract key conclusions. Ability to identify strategic priorities such as new locations, new premium benefit opportunities and partners, crafting business/investment case strategy, developing customer value propositions and experiences, and launching as part of new product refresh plans. Develop relationships with critical partners in the airline, Airport and travel industry, refining and pitching the Amex value story, identifying spaces and evaluating feasibility, and managing the needs of existing and new lounges as needed with airport partners.

Minimum Qualifications: The ideal candidate is a curious, strategic, ambitious, self-starter who is able to drive results with minimal supervision Strong project management and interpersonal/influence management skills and experience working across business units, functions, and executive levels Strong financial acumen with ability to develop and sensitize excel financial models; collate and evaluate data to extract relevant conclusions and business takeaways Attention to detail and an ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects. Excellent analytical skills and rigor including an ability to work in ambiguous, high-pressure environments Builds relationships, influences, and collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams and individuals at all levels Exceptional oral and written communication skills Proven track record navigating complex negotiations and challenging projects to drive results Experience developing business strategies from the ground up, as well as associated business cases and implementation plans Keen interesting in/knowledge of travel industry, specifically airlines and airports BA/BS or 3-5 years relevant business experience in finance, consulting or product development and/or project management Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
