Job DescriptionSummary:
Ouro Interactive is Oculus Studios' newest 1st Party game studio, and Meta's first in-house game studio dedicated exclusively to creating lighthouse games for Horizon Worlds. As a Senior Level Designer for Ouro Interactive, you'll be at the forefront of shipping VR-best experiences for the ever-expanding Horizon metaverse. You will be responsible for level greyboxing, terrain sculpting, assets, POI and enemy spawn placements. You'll be responsible and a major driver of the full end-to-end experience of how players experience our levels. This entails working closely with Art, Design, and Engineering to create and iterate on the gameplay map to provide the best navigation and gameplay experience in VR.
Required Skills:
Senior Level Designer - Ouro Interactive Responsibilities:
1. Work in dynamic, cross-disciplinary teams (Engineering, Design, Art, etc) to implement elements of the level to support gameplay, design, and narrative requirements.
2. Lead design sessions to create outlines and storyboards of end-to-end experiences through our levels.
3. Design and prototype engaging 3D gameplay spaces that successfully supports player navigation flow, visual storytelling, and enemy encounters.
4. Enhance the immersive visuals of VR worlds with your level compositions, POI and asset placement skills.
5. Optimize and expand your creation to maximize level replayability and difficulty scaling.
6. Responsible for creating and maintaining documentation for level creation pipeline.
7. Responsible for helping to establish key metrics for our custom game modes.
8. Must be able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Minimum Qualifications:

9. Experience executing end-to-end development efforts and working on an aspect of games from concept to launch.
10. Experience using or making games with a 3D engine (Unreal, Unity, etc.).
11. A portfolio that features some games you have shipped.
12. Advanced skill with a 3d content creation package (Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, etc.).

13. 5+ years of game design experience or a minimum of 1 shipped titles Experience producing VR, MR, or AR games.
14. Mobile, Console, or PC development experience.
15. Proven skills at another aspect development such as Design, Art, Marketing, Community Management, etc.
16. Experience in game development with both internal and external development teams.
17. Strong communication and presentation skills.
18. Experience thriving in a fast-paced environment, juggling projects and developers.
19. Knowledgeable about trends in the VR/MR/AR space as they relate to the products being developed by Ouro Interactive.
Public Compensation:
$165,000/year to $231,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
