As the Senior Legal Counsel – Investment Banking, you will primarily work closely with the Debt Capital Markets and Equity Capital Markets businesses in New York. Additionally, the role will involve, in part, providing capital markets and limited bank regulatory advice across HSBC’s businesses. You will join a dynamic legal team and engage your knowledge and expertise, working closely with an innovative and rapidly expanding capital markets business. You will also collaborate with colleagues around the globe to share practice insights and contribute to HSBC’s global policies and procedures.
Here's what you can expect:
In this role, you will advise and support Debt Capital Markets and Equity Capital Markets team members on transaction management, serve as an on-call resource for legal, regulatory, market practice and structuring questions, and collaborate with legal, regulatory compliance and other colleagues around the world on relevant legal issues. Your responsibilities will include: reviewing transaction documents to ensure conformity with HSBC policy and legal standards, providing advice to the banking team and external clients on transaction structuring, documentation and legal developments, instructing external counsel and managing relationships with law firms, coordinating with internal teams on deal execution, negotiating engagement letters and non-disclosure agreements, monitoring risk throughout the business lines, drafting internal policies and procedures, and collaborating with HSBC’s global offices to provide input regarding U.S. capital markets law and practice, and to revise and disseminate global policies.
For this role, HSBC targets a fixed pay range between $191,700.00 and $287,600.00.
The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.
