Job description

Imagine a future where you work on cutting-edge M&A transactions and structured solutions to support our vision of a world that runs entirely on green energy .
Join us in this role where you'll be responsible for providing legal advice on M&A transactions, partnerships, strategic joint ventures, project finance transactions, and structured solutions, primarily focused on our U.S. projects, but with the possibility of working on transactions across our global portfolio.
Welcome to Ørsted Legal
You'll be part of the Ørsted Americas organization while simultaneously being a member of the global Legal M&A team, where you, together with your colleagues, will provide high-quality, commercially focused legal advice to transaction teams worldwide, across different technologies. As a team, we pull in the same direction and we help each other, as we see collaboration as our strength.
You'll play an important role in:

  • being the lead in-house lawyer on transactions, participating in process management, due diligence process negotiations, and leading the management and review of transaction documentation
  • supervising and leading the relationship with external legal advisers to ensure the best outcome for the business
  • identifying legal and commercial risks and assisting the transaction teams in coming up with solutions to manage or eliminate the risks
  • building up your knowledge of how our business operates to become a trusted adviser capable of providing legal advice grounded in a deep understanding of commercial needs.

To succeed in the role, you:
  • have a J.D. from an accredited law school
  • are admitted in good standing to at least one state bar
  • have solid M&A experience at a major law firm, with experience in renewable energy tax equity or comparable project finance transactions being a plus
  • possess outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • are able to work independently.

Maybe you've read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don't quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
Join a global leader in renewable energy
Ørsted is a growing green energy major and global leader in climate action. With us you'll play a part in driving change towards a green energy future. You'll grow your talent in a fast-paced and high-growth industry where you have plenty of opportunities to learn and develop through challenging assignments and industry-leading experts. Here, you can perform in a friendly work environment based on trust, respect, and collaboration.
Shape the future with us
Send your application to us no later than January 7, 2024. We'll be conducting interviews on a continuous basis and reserve the right to take down the advert when we have found the right candidate.
Please don't hesitate to contact Talent Acquisition Operations US, , on talentacquisitionUS@orsted.com, if you'd like to know more about the position. If you need to request any adjustments or accommodations to working practices, working patterns, or the assessment or interview process we're happy to discuss alternative arrangements.
