Overview:
Markets Treasury (MKTY) manages cash, liquidity, funding and interest rate risk for the entire entity in compliance with Group and regulatory norms.
The Balance Sheet Management (BSM) IT / Markets Treasury (MKTY) IT team deliver strategic and tactical development solutions for the Balance Sheet Management and Fixed Income desks globally.
The role will be working closely with Balance Sheet Management systems and projects such as RegYY, FASB 91, Cross asset risk aggregator, etc. There are a number of local Spring based web applications that the successful candidate will also have to manage. This could mean working to prioritise the book of work and communicate with stakeholders to manage expectations.
The candidate will also provide functional support to the Balance Sheet Management (BSM) business as well as help mature the run-the-bank (RTB) capability of the BSM IT team globally. Additionally, the person will be required to provide technical support for end of day processes, build, test and deploy changes to the system. They will also work to help build a cost efficient and sustainable organisation to meet the dynamic and fast paces needs of Global Markets
Responsible for:
Scope of Work
- Work on technical design, coding, architecture of complex Java, J2EE (Spring, extended java stack), Python
- Work with UI technologies such as React JS, and also “independently” carry a task to completion from Front end to database queries (SQL)
- Work with stakeholders including Business and IT teams to gather, analyse and translate business and technical requirements
- Conduct/Assist in system testing cycles including SIT, UAT, trial conversion to ensure the system functioning as expected.
- Assist with enhancing Markets Treasury systems and tools (FASB 91, Risk computation engine, ICE compliance reports, etc.)
- Review of defects and their prioritisation
- Help with system Go-Live and training to users and Support
- Provide production support and deliver bug fixes to production.
- At least 10 years of technology experience (Java, J2EE, Spring, SQL, ReactJS, NodeJS, SQL) in delivering medium-sized project from inception through requirements gathering, design, build, test and delivery is a must
- Strong understanding of fixed income products (Bonds, MBS, CMOs, Dollar roll, Repos, Swaps, Money Markets), basic understanding of risk measures.
- Knowledge of DevOps tools such as Jenkins, REST API, SQL, Unix, python, java, Excel macros
- Experience in managing relationships with senior Front Office stakeholders
- Comfort with explaining, discussing and documenting business process to both stakeholders from other asset classes and IT developers.
- Experience identifying and documenting requirements and subsequent solution design for intra-departmental technology platforms which Markets Treasury IT use.
- Highly literate, with the ability to distil complex business concepts into simple language
- Highly articulate, with excellent communication skills
- Self-starter, with a desire to own a problem until successful solution is found
- Flexible and pragmatic attitude to problem solving
- Focused on working with colleagues to deliver effective, business-focused solutions
- Experience in working with onshore and offshore development and test teams
