Position Summary:
Hillenbrand is looking for a Senior Internal Auditor (Remote) to join our team. This role will work primarily remotely but would be expected to come into the office once a month. As a Senior Internal Auditor, you will be responsible for collaborating closely with the controller’s group, business unit management, other finance leaders, and our external audit and co-sourcing firms. The main responsibility will be conducting internal audits and executing them in a timely manner. The primary focus is on identifying best practices that achieve high-quality audits, with the ultimate goal of providing identified solutions and timely reporting to relevant stakeholders.
Work You’ll Do:
- Work proactively with a strong understanding of the global business to implement and execute the Hillenbrand Internal Audit plan
- Develop and execute comprehensive audit programs, including planning and scope, communication of findings, and timely report writing.
- Provide meaningful recommendations to management to enhance the adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency of internal controls and operations.
- Provide guidance as business area leaders address audit findings, control deficiencies, or implement significant process changes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to create control and process improvements
- Participate in the global risk assessment process
- Mentoring/training of junior auditors and business line guest auditors.
- Other duties may be assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or related
- 2+ years experience as an Senior Internal Auditor.
- Prior experience leading audits of various functions including: accounting, procurement, inventory, revenue, HR, business operations, etc.
- Applied knowledge of accounting concepts and risk-based auditing techniques (SOX, US GAAP, etc.)
Travel: Up to 20%
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA, CIA, preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing industry highly preferred.
- JD Edwards/SAP
- OneStream
- Public accounting experience preferred
- Publicly traded company preferred
