Yabu Pushelberg is seeking an experienced Interior Designer to join the Decorative Arts team. The Decorative Arts team is a unique cohort within the larger Studio. The Decorative Arts team focuses on style-driven interiors projects. Typologies may include private residences, residential show flats, specialty hotels and F+B, with the latter two most often being a renovation/design-build approach. The team additionally provides styling direction of all the Studio's projects.
We welcome designers with 6+ years' experience with portfolios that can speak to a global point of view and a style-driven approach to design. Experience working with global clientele in the luxury hospitality realm is an immense asset. A passion for white glove Client Management is a must. Experience working with high net-worth, private Clients is a bonus. Must be able to thrive working across a vast landscape of shifting design challenges on stringent deadlines while maintaining a keen eye for detail.
Your Responsibilities

• Develop design direction
• Design across all phases of work:
  • Concept
  • Schematic
  • Design Development
  • Construction Documents
  • Construction Administration
• Coordinate with internal teams, clients, consultants, and others key stakeholders to the project
• Prepare and deliver client presentations
• Mentor and develop others

Your Qualifications

• A Degree in Interior Design or related field of Design
• 6+ years of practical work experience
• Previous experience in luxury hospitality and high-end residential environments is an asset
• Exceptional CAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Suite skills
• Revit, Rhino and Enscape are preferred

• A knack for crafting compelling narratives
• A nuanced appreciation of FFE, finishes and bespoke detailing

• A dedication to challenging convention and to embracing a dynamic way of thinking

Beyond the core responsibilities noted above, the Designer may be expected to support all Decorative Arts projects. With the guidance and oversight of the Decorative Arts team, and/or Interior Design teams, the Designer must be able to gather an understanding of the client and operator's requests, needs, and desires and have the ability to assist in their execution within the context of producing a YP-caliber design.
