CEI Senior Inspector

Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering, PLLC (ICE) is seeking a CEI Senior Inspector to join us in overseeing the inspection of construction projects. Position Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Possess a strong understanding of the Department's Procedures pertaining to the assigned project duties and be proficient in relevant computer programs.
  • Exercise independent judgment in planning work details and making technical decisions related to field aspects of the project.
  • Perform highly complex technical assignments, including field surveying, construction layout, engineering computations, construction work inspections, and field tests.
  • Coordinate and supervise lower-level inspectors.
  • Work under the general supervision of the Project Administrator.
Position Requirements:
  • To be eligible for this position, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Additionally, for the Senior Engineer Intern classification, an EI certificate is required.
  • For candidates with engineering, engineering technology, or construction management degrees: Minimum of one (1) year of CEI experience in the construction of roadway or bridge structures.
  • For candidates without engineering, engineering technology, or construction management degrees: Minimum of four (4) years of CEI experience in roadway or bridge construction.
  • A valid Driver's License is required with a safe driving record and must complete a pre-employment screening.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • ICE is a drug-free workplace.
Certification Requirements:
Candidates must possess the following qualifications/certifications relevant to the project's scope of work at the time of Notice to Proceed (NTP):
  • CTQP Final Estimates Level I
  • CTQP Concrete Field Technician Level I
  • CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level II (Bridges)
  • CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I
  • CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level II
  • CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I
  • CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level II
  • CTQP Pile Driving Inspection
  • CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection (mandatory for inspection of all drilled shafts, including miscellaneous structures such as sign structures, lighting structures, and traffic signal structure foundations)
  • CTQP Grouting Technician Level I
  • CTQP Post-Tensioning Technician Level I
  • IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level
  • FDOT Intermediate MOT
  • Nuclear Radiation Safety
  • Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors
Physical Demands: While working in the office, this position predominantly involves up to 8 hours per day at a computer workstation, with occasional standing and walking. The employee may occasionally lift lightweight office supplies and materials, typically not exceeding 20 pounds. The office environment is indoors, characterized by controlled temperatures and minimal exposure to adverse conditions. Must have visual acuity to recognize/change/add precise details on CAD drawings.
During fieldwork, the position entails moderate physical exertion, encompassing walking, standing, bending, and ascending stairs or ladders. The employee may occasionally lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Fieldwork exposes inspectors to various environmental conditions, including but not limited to loud noise levels, dust, dirt, and temperature fluctuations. Inspectors must adeptly navigate construction sites and conduct thorough inspections of materials and structures.

Expected Hours of Work: This position is full-time (40 hours per week). Office hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, allowing one unpaid hour for lunch each day. While overtime is generally not anticipated, occasional projects or deadlines may necessitate additional hours, compensated according to company policy. Flexible schedules may be available with prior approval from the immediate supervisor. Work schedules may vary based on project demands.
