As an Senior Import/Export Operations Specialist - Onsite within the Global Event Logistics / Motorsport Group supports and ensures all operational activities of projects in alignment with profit and expense goals, while providing the highest possible service to the customer base. You will be responsible for the import and export movement by air, ocean and truck of our customers for tradeshows, events and motorsport related shipments. You will coordinate and be a main point of contact for our Global Event Logistics shipments from initial customer contact to final destination.
Key Responsibilities:
· Drafting quotations for Import/Export inquiries related to Global Event Logistics in cooperation with DHL’s global network or agents
· Directs, coordinates Performs booking and booking optimization and ensure timely execution with DHL Global Forwarding, Third Party Freight Forwarders, Trucking Companies or other vendors on customer behalf
· Creates and confirms transport order to ensure pickup of the shipment at origin
· Supports the team on-site at projects and directs on-site tasks to blue collar teams
· Ensures all work for assigned department/team is completed in a timely and efficient manner
· Supports in KPI achievements by monitoring and driving performance of all project related shipments
· Handles and serves as escalations level for all on-site related issues (e.g. dispute with internal/external customers)
· Recommends process improvements for area; identifies, defines and develop solutions to issues not immediately evident in existing systems / reporting.
· Additional responsibilities include problem issue administration, conflict resolution, mentoring and consistent application of disciplinary actions in accordance with Company policy and cooperation with direct line manager.
Skills / Requirements:
· BA/BS preferred or combination of experience and education
· Minimum 5 years Import/Expert experience within the freight forwarding/international supply industry preferably in specialized sport event and tradeshow logistics
· Sound knowledge of all facets of international freight forwarding (air, ocean, trucking, basic US Customs)
· Strong computer skills: Microsoft (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook)
· Utilize Microsoft Excel to increase productivity and improve efficiency by streamlining workflow. Advanced knowledge, to include worksheet audit / data analysis.
· Demonstrated leadership ability under stress
· Proficient decision making skills
· High degree of written, verbal and organizational skills
· Diligent attention to details
· An advanced understanding of specific aspects of work supervised and practical application to problems and situations ordinarily encountered.
· Periodically extensive travel to project sites required.
