Our Human Resources team is growing!
The City of Springfield is looking for an HR professional with experience in the area of Employee Relations.
This position may be filled as a Senior Human Resources Specialist or underfill as a Human Resources Specialist, depending on your experience and education.
What you'll do:
- Partner with leaders and decision-makers within the organization to advise and provide coaching on best practices and policy.
- Review and investigate conflicts and concerns.
- Apply internal policy and HR law to on-the-job situations.
- Strategize and problem-solve collaboratively.
What you'll need:
- Experience coordinating and conducting investigative interviews for policy violations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience using professional interpersonal skills during difficult conversations.
- Ability to maintain a high-level of confidentiality and utilize good discernment and decision-making.

Sr. Human Resources Specialist - Employee Relations Qualifications and Requirements
Experience, Education, and Training
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Public or Business Administration, Education, or a related field;
AND
- Two years of professional experience in generalized Human Resources handling Employee Relations investigations.
- Professional HR certification as a PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or similar certification may be substituted for some of the experience requirement as appropriate.
Licensing/Certification
- One or more professional HR certifications such as PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP are preferred but not required.

Salary $45,687.2 - $74,678.24 Annually
