Job Summary:

This position supports the development, preparation, and implementation of Human Resource policies and procedures. The Senior HR Generalist should bring expertise in employee benefits administration and also possesses a deep understanding of FMLA regulations. In this role you will oversee site- specific human resource issues, under the general review of the Human Resource Director and assure compliance with State and Federal regulations. As a Senior HR Generalist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and optimizing our benefits programs, ensuring compliance with FMLA, and contributing to a workplace where employees feel supported and valued throughout their career journey. You will lead and manage projects from general HRIS management, to annual open enrollment – often in tandem with a third-party vendor. You will be a subject matter expert on this team and be responsible for prompt and proactive communication with employees and managers seeking your guidance.

Pay and Benefits:

Pay: $77,010 - $93,671 per year based on relevant experience, skills, and abilities.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Main point of contact for all benefits administration: Navigating employee qualifying events, enrollments, exits, annual open enrollments and collaboration with third party contacts.
  2. Become a TRA ADP expert: General ad hoc HR reporting, employee updates, benefits surveys, and coordination with payroll to ensure accuracy across systems.
  3. Serve as the go-to expert on FMLA regulations, providing guidance to employees, managers, and executive leadership.
  4. Coordinate and oversee the leave of absence process, including FMLA, disability, and other applicable leaves.
  5. Collaborate with external vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure the optimization and implementation of benefits offerings.
  6. Administers and assures compliance with Human Resources related components of policies and Federal and Washington State laws; assists with reviewing, updating designing and/or implementing procedures, and guidelines to assure accurate reference documentation exists both internal and external to HR.
  7. Responsible for assuring appropriate human resource related record keeping and documentation is maintained, such as, personnel action request forms, incident reports, disciplinary actions, FMLA paperwork, performance management, etc.
  8. Provide guidance and coaching to managers and employees on various Human Resources related initiatives and development of proactive employee relations strategies.
  9. Conduct periodic training sessions and articulate communications to edify employees on available benefits programs and leave policies.
  10. Assists and works closely with the Payroll/ Finance Department and accounting staff with benefits, payroll, and various projects.
  11. Provide recruiting assistance as necessary in support of Senior Recruiting Specialist.
  12. Prepares for Human Resources related audits and other administrative tasks.
  13. Responds to routine inquiries and requests from employees and managers on HR related topics, including forms, processes, policies, and procedures. Recommends resolutions and action plans.
  14. Seeks guidance from HR Director when dealing with complex or unusual situations.
  15. Assist with developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
  16. Check work e-mail daily.

Qualifications:

Education/Work Experience

  • 5+ years of recent, related experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience with ADP Workforce Now, and/or ADP WFN Certification Specialist strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • SPHR or Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential information, situations, and documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines, self-motivated.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication skills with capability to build trust and respect within company. Ability to interact effectively with physicians, patients, and the public to represent TRA in a positive and professional manner.
  • Knowledge of the concepts, practices, policies, procedures, standards, systems, and tools applicable to multiple HR disciplines.
  • Knowledge of the content, intent, and application of TRA regulations, policies, standards, operations, and requirements with the ability to explain them to staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to abstract pertinent information, reach sound conclusions, use good judgment in a variety of situations and using various sources including financial and/or operational reports.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills.
  • Communicate professionally with other medical facilities, patients, and customers.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and carry out instructions effectively.
