SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Springs Rescue Mission (SRM) considers every position one of ministry and a vital and valued part of our team. The Sr. Human Resources Manager will manage or lead the functions of the Human Resources department in the following areas: HR policy, compliance, employee relations, policy and procedure, HR data integrity, conflict resolution, HR metrics, HR project management, training and development, employee engagement, and any other HR related areas as directed. The person in this position will be forward-thinking leader in tandem with being a consummate professional, detail oriented, flexible, and nimble in ability to juggle myriad of ever-changing and often complex duties in an efficient and effective way. This person in this role must also effectively interact with all levels of staff and leadership, to include being a liaison to Senior Leadership as appropriate and/or directed. 

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Building, facilitating, and supporting employee relations, engagement, and communications within Springs Rescue Mission.
  • Maintaining a positive workplace culture in a faith-based organization
  • Direct management of employee relations and grievances. 
  • Ensuring employees compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as state and federal law, to include FAMLI Act, FMLA, and ADA.
  • Building, facilitating, and supporting effective internal training programs for all staff levels at SRM in coordination with CHRO. 
  • Administrative team member of SRM emergency notification system taskforce.
  • Assessing reports provided by the HR team, team leaders and operations managers to determine employee performance and training needs.
  • Proactively ensuring the SRM Employee Handbook and HR Manager Handbook is current and compliant. 
  • Suggesting changes in policies and procedures based on employee and company needs.
  • Researching compensation standards set by industry and governing bodies to ensure salary structures and employee benefits align with current internal and external benchmarks.
  • Supervising all HR activities or functions as directed.
  • Attending interdepartmental meetings with other managers
  • Provides support and guidance to HR generalists, management, and other staff, along with CHRO, when HR related questions and issues arise.
  • Creates and administers programs that support employee education and engagement, to include employee recognition items or events.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
  • Maintains, monitors, and reports employee performance evaluation process, to include related compensation changes, in coordination with Manager of Payroll and HRMS.
  • Maintain HR presence by ensuring routine visits to all SRM departments on a recurring basis.
  • Maintain, report, and interpret HR metrics as related to turnover, retention, engagement, or any other HR related measurements.
  • May act as HR lead in any projects assigned to Human Resources
  • Will act as a final approver for payroll and bill reconciliation.
  • As needed, provide redundancy for specialty HR areas to include recruitment, payroll, benefit administration, and HRIS administration when dedicated team members are out due to PTO or leave. 
  • Attends all required meetings and reviews SRM emails regularly.
  • Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.

Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in human resources management, business administration, or related area; and 4-8 years of experience in the field or in a related area. 
  • Previous experience as HR Manager or Sr. HR Generalist highly desired. 
  • SHRM certification desired.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Office computer suite
  • Proficient with 2 years or more previous experience utilizing a major HRMS system.
  • Experience with Paylocity HRMS desired.

  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Comfortable in making presentations, verbal and/or written, to groups of employees
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
  • In-depth knowledge and proven application of labor law and HR best practices
  • Working knowledge of all HR department functions 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Proficient with HRMS and Payroll systems or software
  • Solid understanding and exercise of business acumen
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work accurately and meet deadlines.
  • Required to be discrete and consistently maintain confidentiality.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL FACTORS:

Occasionally = 1%-33%; frequently = 34%-66%; continuously = 67%-100%.

  • Continuously: sitting, adequate vision and hearing, good mental condition to withstand consistently medium to high levels of stress

Salary & benefits include the following: $70,000 - $74,000, DOE.  

* Full benefits package to include: medical benefits with SRM paying 85% of the medical premium, voluntary Dental, Vision, Allstate Accident Plan, SRM-paid Short-Term and Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, and AD&D. Also offered are 8 paid holidays, 21 days of accruable PTO, paid "Soul Care Retreat" days (up to 4 depending upon availability), and a 403b retirement plan with SRM-match after one (1) year, 100% vested beginning DOH; (Benefits are subject to change based on reevaluation or benefit plan changes annually.)  

*Benefits begin at 1st of the following month after completing a full 30 days of employment (I.E. start date 4 January 2021, benefits initiate 1 March 2021)
