ChampionX has an immediate need for a Senior Health, Safety & EnvironmentalManager located in Crowley, TX. The Sr. HSE Manager is responsible for development and implementation of the organization's Health, Safety & Environmental strategy. In this role, you will research, evaluate, and implement safety solutions to achieve optimal levels of safety and compliance. The role will manage Health, Safety & Environmental activities to ensure the facilities assigned comply with Health, Safety & Environmental regulations as well as ChampionX environmental policies.

What You Will Do:
  • Leads / manages HSE programs, compliance and results for a smaller business, facility, or geography.
  • May also manage Center of Excellence programs or processes (i.e., such as personnel safety, industrial hygiene, environmental safety, compliance).
  • Works with leaders to identify HSE priorities and programs for the area managed, including performance metrics, communication, and change management.
  • Implements corporate, regional, or divisional policies and programs.
  • Gives feedback with regards to changes needed for local compliance, communication, or business relevance.
  • Develops location or business group specific programs to address local needs.
  • Ensures that required monitoring of operations or industrial exposures is in place.
  • Provides technical leadership and functional guidance for health standards promulgated by regulatory authorities.
  • Coordinates ECAP and other audits of area managed; works with leadership to ensure findings are addressed.
  • Keeps informed on all existing and proposed changes in occupational health and safety regulations and ensures compliance in areas managed.
  • Ensures that leading and lagging HSE metrics are collected.
  • Reviews metrics, trends, and actions with Leadership team support.
  • Leads/Manages all environmental, health and safety activities that are required by OSHA, EPA, DOT, and provincial/state regulations including CAL/OSHA.
  • Ensure routine inspections for Stormwater Pollution Prevention, Spill Prevention and Control and Countermeasures, Hazardous Waste, and Air Permit compliance are complete, and follow up on corrective actions, as needed.
  • As needed collect environmental samples and data including water sampling, soil sampling, and air emissions, and maintain instruments in accordance with manufacturer recommendations. Analyze environmental data and incorporate into key performance indicators.
  • Prepare and submit all required reports, including, but not limited to, SARA Title III, Annual Emissions Inventory, air and water permit modifications and renewals, and other agency notifications.
  • Compiles and submits environmental and accident reports required by regulatory agencies, reports improvement opportunities to top management.
  • Provides environmental, health and safety training as required by company policy and regulators.
  • Leads the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations; prepares studies and analyses of industrial accident causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agencies.
  • Inspects organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
  • Manages the administration of workers' compensation program and works with the insurance carrier to reduce employee lost time.
  • Develops and maintains field safety programs with the collaboration of regional managers.
  • Updates Safety/Environmental Policies and Procedures as needed, ensuring all programs follow laws and legislation.
  • Represents the organization in community or industry safety groups and programs.
  • Generates and monitors environmental, health and safety performance metrics; ensures that safety files and records are maintained according to local regulations and company policies; evaluates key performance indicators to drive functional and business performance improvements related to human resource investments.
  • Drives and contributes to the department continuous improvement culture.
  • Coaches and mentor's direct reports; assigns work according to availability, skills, and developmental needs; assesses performance and provides feedback to direct reports.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all matters.
  • Other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety or other relevant degree with 5 years HSE experience, 2 years at the management level or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years of relevant Health, Safety, and Environment experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Follow all safety policies and company-wide safety requirements.
  • Encourage action assuring safe behavior.
  • Confront unsafe behavior and conditions proactively and positively.
  • Work in an unsupervised environment.
  • Read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Use a computer to communicate, create, and access information.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Strong OSHA Regulation knowledge.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including strong presentation skills.
  • Strong Math and analytical skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
  • Self-Driven work ethic.
  • Ability to work within the US without sponsorship of VISA.

  • Must be able to lift and carry 15 lbs. regularly and 50 lbs. occasionally.

  • The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Employee is required to occasionally walk in customer field locations which may include inclines, uneven surfaces, and a variety of weather conditions.
  • Employee must be able to regularly bend, stoop, crawl, lay down, twist and push.
  • Employee is required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment including but not limited to shoes/boots, hard hats, or respirators.
  • Some work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well-ventilated facilities.
  • Work normally is executed in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer with 35% required time on production floors observing operational tasks.
  • Work requires some visits to customer office and field locations in a variety of weather and temperature conditions.
  • Work requires occasional travel to other locations within the US with possible overnight visits.
  • Ability to Travel outside of Crowley, TX as designated for work meetings and team projects.
