Role Overview:
We’re dedicated to bringing innovative solutions to our vehicles and expanding our intellectual property portfolio. We are currently seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer to join our dynamic Infotainment and Connected Vehicle Engineering Team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and executing the vision for vehicle electronic hardware components and systems, ensuring integration with software teams for optimal functionality. You'll lead the charge in creating, validating, and implementing cutting-edge designs that enhance user experience and push the boundaries of what's possible in vehicle technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, testing, and validation of hardware systems and components, ensuring they meet or exceed industry standards.
- Creation of circuit diagrams and schematics, utilizing your expertise in electronic component selection and system-level design to develop robust hardware solutions for infotainment systems.
- Guide Hardware Engineering teams and external suppliers through the entire hardware layout and validation process.
- Actively contribute to the ideation and development of new product features and processes and engage in R&D activities for emerging technologies, conducting proofs of concept to validate designs and theories.
- Develop project timelines and manage hardware execution to align with program milestones, feature functionality, and software releases.
- Generate new product feature ideas and engage in continuous development processes. Validate designs through simulations, prototyping, and rigorous testing.
- Serve as a technical leader, mentoring Hardware Engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals. Work closely with suppliers to realize designs and ensure requirements are met.
- Maintain high standards of hardware quality by adhering to best practices and industry standards, including AEC Q100.
Requirements:
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field, MS degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years experience in hardware development, specifically in automotive electronics or related industries.
- Proficient in schematic creation, PCB layout, and validation, with a strong understanding of AEC Q100 standards.
- Demonstrated experience in leading hardware design projects from concept through to production.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware issues.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience mentoring junior engineers.
Advantageous Skills:
- Automotive bus communication knowledge.
- Experience with QNX, Linux, and Android OS.
- Familiarity with ISO 26262.
- Embedded Artificial Intelligence development experience.
