Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Grants Manager.
In this role, the successful candidate reports to the Department Administrator; the Sr. Grants Manager is responsible for administrative oversight of the Department of Psychiatry's pre-award activities and successful execution of the departments administrative strategic goals to achieve research objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
Grants Management
o Oversight of pre-award activities for federal and non-federal grants and contracts. Provide direction, support, and guidance to Principle Investigators (PIs) and their research staff.
o Provide a demonstrated knowledge of intramural and extramural pre-award regulations and procedures to serve as a resource to the research community and respond to inquiries of departmental staff and faculty.
o Manage the pre-award grant process for the department including grant submissions and reporting.
o Demonstrate effective time management to help Principal Investigators meet both internal and external deadlines.
Research Operations
o Responsible for oversight of pre-award operations including day to day preparation and timely submission of grant applications, contracts, subcontracts, amendments and reports.
o Provide leadership, direction, supervision and guidance on pre-award process to ensure efficient and compliant management of department's grant portfolio.
o Work closely with Principal Investigators and their research staff in the development of grant submissions including FOA review, budget development, coordination of other support/consortium documents and JIT requests.
o Manage compliance with all funding agencies and ensure that progress is reported as required by the sponsor. Identifies and analyzes any discrepancies in order to ensure appropriate justifications are provided.
Institutional Research Liaison
o Liaise with internal administrative offices (SPA, OSR, CRSU, IRB, TOV, Development Office), other departments, institutions, and external funding agencies regarding budgetary, financial, or other administrative grant issues.
o Serve as primary member of departmental core administrative team representing research administration.
o Coordination of grant funded budgets with SPA.
Strategic Planning
o Work with the department's management team on initiatives to improve grant submission process and monitoring and strengthening existing collaborations.
o Identification of new internal and external research funding opportunities, and communicate application process and deadlines to Principal Investigators.
o Participate in planning and process improvements related to pre-award procedures.
o Work closely with PI's to assess future direction and needs concerning grant portfolios.
o Develop ad hoc reports as requested.
Reporting
o Prepare reports for the Dean's Snapshot Meetings and Blueridge NIH rankings as needed.
o Develop ad hoc reports as requested.
o Provide all other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Administration or related field, Masters preferred with a minimum of seven years broad grants administration or other relevant experience
in all aspects of proposal review. Must be able to exercise good judgment, based on gathering and analyzing, factual and objective data; interpret policies/procedures in order to make sound independent decisions.
Successful candidate must have a thorough understanding of policies and procedures to ensure that research practices are in accordance with regulatory requirements and ethical standards.
Demonstrated knowledge of grant submission process including preparing, completing, and collecting required paperwork and necessary signatures for federal and non-federal grant applications. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills are essential to interact effectively with diverse internal and external professional groups and sponsors.
Candidate must have a proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines for grant submissions, and manage several projects simultaneously.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $92,066.00 - $128,813.73 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
