Job Summary:
As a Senior Global Category Manager, you will provide strategic and tactical direction for a Supply Management category team. Your responsibilities will include leading the team, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the alignment of category strategies with Harley-Davidson’s strategic plans and cost reduction initiatives.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and deploy strategic initiatives to facilitate synergies across global and regional supplier partners.
- Champion key strategic supplier contracts and manage commercial performance and relationships.
- Monitor compliance to category agreements and strategies based on Harley-Davidson Supply Management (SM) policies.
- Present new planning tools, methods, technical analysis, and procurement opportunities to senior management.
- Plan, prepare, and execute the annual value proposition for owned spend and support execution with cross-functional teams.
- Lead Supplier Business Reviews and develop proactive supplier risk mitigation strategies.
- Provide guidance to employees and address resource and operational challenges to support departmental plans.
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Supplier Quality, S&OP, Negotiation, and Product Development.
- Proven track record in leading and developing a Supply Management department.
- Strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Expertise in leading groups to reach consensus on goals and objectives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional negotiating experience in a global business environment.
- 5+ years of experience improving supplier performance across multiple manufacturing facilities.
- APQP experience.
- Demonstrated Continuous Improvement (CI) experience.
- Motorcycle riding experience and knowledge of Harley-Davidson motorcycles and accessories.
