This position will lead in designing, developing, and testing Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) that support safety critical logic, sensors, optical and communications systems, as well as high performance processing architectures. You will implement logic designs and signal processing algorithms in RTL, integrate designs onto FPGA/System-on-Chip (SoC) platforms, and validate devices that communicate to, and fly in, space.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assume responsibility for planning, leading, and ensuring the technical excellence of multiple FPGA projects in both space and ground avionics sectors.
- Actively engage in the entire development lifecycle of FPGA projects, including deriving system requirements, designing SoC architecture, developing RTL, verification, achieving timing closure, and performing in-hardware debugging.
- Function as a key consulting resource, leveraging your extensive engineering knowledge to apply the latest technological advancements and guide the team towards the successful resolution of complex challenges.
- Lead the internal review process for FPGA/SoC designs and code, ensuring adherence to Innoflight's established standards.
- Offer guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Work collaboratively with project managers and various engineering departments to ensure seamless project execution.
- Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management and release processes for Innoflight FPGA products.
- Contribute to the development of new work products and the enhancement of existing systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science required.
- 7-10 years’ experience with FPGA architecture and design.
- Extensive experience in in-hardware debugging.
- Demonstrated experience using Xilinx Vivado and/or Microchip Libero to develop complex SoC architectures.
- Demonstrated experience with VHDL (RTL and verification).
- Strong grasp of concepts and techniques related to achieving timing closure.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with using Aldec Riviera-Pro.
- Experience with formal verification methodologies (UVM, UVVM, OSVVM).
- Experience with high-speed interfaces such as PCIe and 10G Ethernet.
- Experience with HLS and other high level design tools.
Salary Range
$160,000.00-$180,000.00
However, Innoflight considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills. Employees may be eligible for profit sharing and discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
