The CME Financial Analyst reports dually to the Finance Business Partner for Medical Education & Research and Administrative Director for Continuing Medical Education, and serves as a key member of the Dean's Office Finance team within the Financial Affairs Unit of the Dean's Office.
The position serves as the Dean's Office financial planning and analysis lead for DGSOM CME programs and is responsible for delivering financial reports, business process improvement, budget & fund management services to enable the program leadership to make timely decisions and achieve desired financial results. This includes financial analysis, reporting, and sales and service application revision support.
S/he will independently and effectively manage the relationships with the CME program leadership and other stakeholders to ensure a collaborative inter-departmental working environment.
TYPE OF SUPERVISION RECEIVED
The CME Financial Analyst will be given general guidelines regarding reporting, application revision preparation, and business process improvement and is expected to work closely with the Deann's Office Finance team and CME Program leadership. Work is prioritized independently and the CME Financial Analyst is expected to set and meet internal demands and to consult with the supervisor when difficulties arise.

- Prepare profit and loss statements for the CME unit generated on a regularbasis
- Develop profit and loss statements and other financial reports for CME programs (e.g. events, trainings,business relationships,etc.)
- Working closely with program leadership, determine a rate and cost structure forservices
- Prepare and revise CME sales and service applications on an ongoing basis and coordinate with Controller's Team and Business and Financial Solutions for successful fund raterevisions
- Oversee and manage overhead and markup revenue for CME sales and servicefunds
- Ensure compliance with Business Contract policies andprocedures
- Perform deep-dive analyses, detailed variance analysis, and interpret key performance indicators thatdrive actionable insights andrecommendations
- Advise operational and administrative managers on best financialpractices
- Establish standard practices and lead implmenetation across sales & serviceunits
- Develop process to manage budgets and financials for the individual courses that Program Managersoversee
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and lead implementation of saidprocesses
- Work collaboratively with Education Leadership, Department Financial Leadership, and other leadership on program findings andrecommendaitons
- Serve as the subject matter expert on CME financial operations and sales and servicefund
- Collaborate with financial and administrative staff to ensure appropriate accounting of CME sales andservice programs
- Develop and perform internal controls for the CME sales and service fund on ongoingbasis
- Establish and implement remediative process recommendations for gaps in internalcontrols

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIESTASK REFERENCEIMPORTANCEMinimum 4 years experience in financial planning, process improvement, and analysis or related field
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent in business administration with an emphasis in accounting or finance or an equivalent combination of education and experience. CMA or MBA desirable. Outstanding skills in financial managment, budgeting, financial planning planning, and financial forecasting.
Proven record of the ability to communicate with and influence key stakeholders across finance, education, and research arenas including senior administrators, senior leadership, directors and other professionals across the university.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, strong work ethic, results orientation and ability to work through projects independently.
Ability to work effectively, efficiently, and respectfully under time pressure, tight deadlines and stressful situations; proven ability to develop timelines for multiple projects and conduct business in a manner designed to monitor and successfully meet those deadlines without supervision.
Effective problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze data and propose appropriate information for decision-making at the highest levels of leadership.Advanced Excel and Power Point skills.Strong knowledge of financial and accounting concepts, including basic framework of the P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow.
Experience leading process improvement and innovation in across departments / programs.Experience in CME or sales & service programs preferred
